Travel

We are so excited to welcome you to Sevilla and truly appreciate the time and expense it takes to travel and celebrate with us. Our goal is to make everything as smooth and affordable as possible so you can relax and enjoy the trip. When it comes to travel, earlier is always cheaper. Flights and accommodations typically become available about a year in advance, and prices tend to rise over time. If you know you’re planning to attend, we recommend booking as soon as you can. Airbnbs can often be a great and affordable option. We’ve also reserved a room block at a beautiful and reasonably priced hotel right in the city center. Hotel Fernando III is just a 2-minute walk from where Shelby and her family will be staying and a 7-minute walk from the Cathedral, where the ceremony will take place. Please know Shelby is always happy to help. Whether it’s finding flights, choosing a neighborhood, or deciding where to stay, don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like advice.

Travel Note

Where to Stay

We recommend staying in Sevilla’s historic center (Casco Antiguo) so you are within walking distance of most wedding events, restaurants, and major sights. The Santa Cruz, El Arenal, and Centro neighborhoods are all great options. Most of the wedding events will take place in or near the historic center, and Sevilla is a very walkable city. Taxis, Uber, and Cabify are also readily available if needed. For convenience, we have reserved a room block at a hotel in the city center, which you can find below. Airbnbs can also be a great option, especially for groups or longer stays.

Flight

Seville Airport

You can fly directly to Sevilla (SVQ) or fly into Madrid (MAD) and take the high-speed train to Sevilla, which takes about 2.5 hours. Another good option is flying into Málaga (AGP), which is about 2–2.5 hours from Sevilla by train or bus and sometimes offers more international flight options. Sevilla Airport is about a 20-minute drive from the city center. Taxis are readily available outside the terminal and typically cost around €25–30. Uber and Cabify are also available, and there is an airport bus that runs directly to the city center. We recommend using Skyscanner to compare flight options, then booking either there or directly through the airline. If you’d like help finding the best route or price, Shelby is always happy to help — feel free to reach out.

Train

Santa Justa Train Station

If you fly into Madrid-Barajas Airport, there is a direct airport bus to the main train station that is very easy to find. From there, you can take a high-speed train directly to Sevilla’s Santa Justa Station. The journey takes about 2.5 hours and is simple, comfortable, and a beautiful way to start your trip. If you’d like help booking any part of the journey, Shelby is always happy to help.
