We're so excited to share some of our favorite childhood places with you!
Ouray

Ouray

Ouray, CO 81427

Ouray is a beautiful, historic town just 10 minutes south of Ridgway. The Ouray Hot Springs was a staple for us growing up and is a great place to relax and bring the kids! We also recommend taking a stroll up the historic main street where you'll find lots of fun shops, restaurants, and candy stores. The colors will also be at their peak this weekend and Ouray is a great place to see them. Another fun thing to do is visit Box Canyon. Enjoy a walk over the canyon and see the waterfalls on a "catwalk' series of metal bridges (note this does require some walking up uneven ground and many steps).

Telluride

Telluride

Telluride, CO 81435

Telluride is a 40-minute drive from Ridgway and about 1.5 hours from Montrose. If you arrive early or stay after the wedding day, we highly recommend making the trip to one of our favorite mountain towns. We both spent our childhoods skiing at Telluride. Find many shops and restaurants in the quaint town and be sure to take the gondola up the mountain to Mountain village to enjoy the changing colors!

Ridgway

Ridgway

Ridgway is one of our favorite little places. There are great restaurants from Tacos del Gnar, Colorado Boy Pizza, and Eatery 66. Just north is Ridgway State Park where we will be hosting our reception. The park has a fun swimming beach (the water will be chilly at this time), playgrounds, and beautiful walking paths.

Black Canyon of the Gunnison Nat'l Park

Black Canyon of the Gunnison Nat'l Park

East out of Montrose is this spectacular national park. We highly recommend driving around the overlooks to stand on the rim of one of the steepest and most narrow canyons in the country. This is a treasured place to us and our families. We've spent many nights watching meteor showers, cross country skiing, and Rusty (Shelby's dad) used to rock climb here.
