Question

What are your COVID-19 safety measures?

Answer

Due to the current easing of the pandemic, we have chosen to loosen our COVID precautions and will not be requiring vaccinations to attend. We want to make our time together as safe as possible, therefore, we would like to ask that all guests take a COVID test 2 days prior to the event date. We have many immune-compromised and elderly family members and feel that it is our collective responsibility to do everything in our power to keep everyone healthy and happy. We know that all of you care deeply about the health and safety of each other, so we thank you for helping us keep everyone well by testing yourself and your family members before you attend – even if you are fully vaccinated or are feeling well. Thank you for understanding.

Question

Important Information re. Elevation & Terrain

Answer

Please be aware that the elevation of our venues ranges from 7,000 to 8,000 feet. If traveling from lower elevations, please be aware that the altitude can greatly affect you and cause symptoms from shortness of breath to headaches, insomnia, and more. If you have lung or heart problems, PLEASE consult with your doctor before making travel plans. We've compiled some great tips to help you stay happy and healthy during your visit with us – find them linked on the "Travel" page. Additionally, please be aware that the ceremony at Top of the Pines will be held in a beautiful meadow which will require walking a short distance over uneven terrain and is, unfortunately, not wheelchair accessible. The reception area at the state park is paved, accessible, and easier to maneuver. Please take these factors into consideration when RSVP-ing and making travel plans.

Question

Will your celebration be held in-person or virtually?

Answer

We will be hosting a smaller in-person celebration as well as a virtual celebration. Things with the pandemic seem to be calming down slightly and our wedding day festivities will be held outdoors so we feel that it may be safe enough to gather a group together. Of course, we know that things could change and we will monitor the state of the pandemic closely. We respect each guest's comfort level, so if you feel that gathering with a group is of concern, you are welcome to request a virtual invitation. We plan on recording our ceremony to share with our loved ones who aren't able to attend on the day so we can still celebrate with you! We will update the virtual event as soon as we have solidified details. (It will most likely be in the days after 10/2, as there is not great service or internet access at our venues).

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Come as you like! Mountain casual to dressy is great, but be sure to bring warm layers! Our ceremony and reception will be outdoors. This time of year in the mountains is gorgeous and could be a beautiful, sunny 60+ degrees or it could be colder. It will definitely be quite cool once the sun goes down. We will have heaters and blankets available, but please come prepared for cold weather. The ceremony will be in a vast meadow so thin-heeled shoes may not be the best option.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is limited parking available at Top of the Pines. Please carpool if possible. There is a local park in Ridgway where you can leave your cars and carpool with other guests. Text or email us in the days before and we can help coordinate! The reception will be held at Ridgway State Park about a 30-minute drive from Top of the Pines and there is plenty of parking available!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Since Shelby is the queen of food intolerances, we have you covered. We'll have gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options available in a build-your-own format. If you have any additional allergies or questions, please reach out to Shelby.
