Arrive as early as 3:00 p.m. to look around at the unique art and grounds of the McMenamins Anderson School. Check out the shop, two bars, pinball machines, and multiple gardens. (See if you can find the old Principal’s Office, now home to a small bar!). If traveling from Seattle, be mindful of traffic delays and plan to arrive early. Parking in the main lot is limited, so consider using overflow parking at Pop Keeney Stadium (entrance on NE 188th Street).
Ceremony
4:30 pm
Check the weather and bring a light jacket as the ceremony will take place outdoors. Masks are not required for vaccinated guests, but climate change is real and wildfire smoke is a possibility so it couldn’t hurt to have one close by.
Ceremony starts at 4:30 p.m. sharp at Haynes' Square (south end of McMenamins Anderson School property).
Cocktail Hour
5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Enjoy a signature “Ada” (sweet and delightful) or “Pythagoras” (strong and bitter) cocktail or two before dinner. Throw some bags at boards competitively in the courtyard and enjoy some appetizers before dinner starts. BEWARE: Flying pom-poms!
Dinner & Reception
6:00 pm - 11:30 pm
McMenamins’ mask policy: Fully vaccinated guests may go mask-free indoors, but please wear a mask when going through the buffet line.
Buffet menu: McMenamins Own Freshly Brewed Coffee/Hot Teas Rolls (vegan) Picnic Potato Salad (vegan) Spicy Radish & Jicama Slaw (vegan) Hammerhead BBQ Tofu (vegan) Honey-Stung Fried Chicken Dinner @6 Dancing @ 7 Cake (vegan) @ 8 Group photo @ 9 Dancing for as long as you like! Notes: Bring your dancing shoes and boogie down to the vinyl of the Emerald City Soul Club! Fun fact: Our DJ, Marc, was spinning records during Shelby and Stephen’s first date. Group Art Project: Help us create a piece of artword for our home on a weaving loom! You can bring things from home to add as "weft", or use decorations or other found objects. Instructional video to come! Lightsaber Lighting: At sundown, join us for the “ceremonial clacking of plastic toys” with a lightsaber, provided at the venue (or bring your own from home)! Our bar service ends at 10 PM, but you can still grab a drink from the hotel bar.
The After Party

Everyone needs to be out of the Hall by midnight, so join us at a bar or hotel room nearby!

Shelby and Stephen will be set up in the park! This is a BYOB situation (Bring Your Own Brunch). So pick up something tasty from a nearby restaurant and come on over to the park for a chill and a lovely morning outside. There is limited parking available, but if it's hard to come by, feel free to park at Anderson School and walk the 3 blocks south. We recommend the restaurants below. Hope to see you there!
