Indy isn't boring

Here we've created a list of some of our favorite places to visit & things to do in and around Indianapolis. Most of these are perfect for a brief visit especially if you're coming from out of town!

The Garage Food Hall

906 Carrollton Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46202

This is in the new Bottleworks district and has lots of neat food options, and is right next to the Bottleworks Hotel.

The Well Coffeehouse Fishers

8890 East 116th Street, Fishers, IN 46038
, (317) 827-6229

This is the coffee shop where we met and got engaged! It is located outside of Indianapolis, but the drive is so worth it.

Java House Coffee Bar (Downtown Indianapolis)

115 East New York Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204
, (317) 552-1617

Specialty cold brew, made hot OR cold!

Yats Cajun Food

885 Massachusetts Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46202

Yats was a high school staple for Lauren. Best advice: order extra bread!

Ocean World Sushi

1206 West 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260
, (317) 848-8901

This is Matt's family's favorite place to get good sushi. If you are looking for a nice dinner it IS on the pricier side but has fantastic sushi.

The Rathskeller Restaurant

401 East Michigan Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204
, (317) 636-0396

The Rathskeller is a unique place to grab some authentic German food and is one of the more well-known restaurants within Indianapolis.

The Olive Mill

10 South Rangeline Road, Carmel, IN 46032
, (317) 574-9200

If you know us, you know about our obsession with olive oil. This place has some of the best oil and balsamic we've had, so you should definitely check it out!

Eiteljorg Museum

500 West Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204
, (317) 636-9378

This museum houses many exhibits focusing on Indigenous art and culture.

Newfields

4000 North Michigan Road, Indianapolis, IN 46208
, (317) 923-1331

Previously the Indianapolis Museum of Art, this museum features unique pieces of art, as well as gorgeous gardens.

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis

3000 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208
, (317) 334-4000

You do not need to be a child to enjoy this museum. There are many interactive exhibits and a rock climbing wall! If you go, say hi to Lauren's dinosaur :)

Monument Circle

Monument Circle, Indianapolis, IN 46204

Indianapolis is the only planned state capital in the US. Monument Circle is the center of the city and has a whole lot to offer within a very short walking distance, including the Soldiers & Sailors Monument.

White River Canoeing & Tubing

17180 River Road, Noblesville, IN 46062
, (317) 867-4233

This option is also a fair drive from downtown but is worth the drive. You'll get a few hours to canoe or tube down a long portion of the white river.

For all the days along the way
