FAQs

If you have any questions prior to the wedding day other than what is listed here, please reach out to Shannon (slomalley23@gmail.com; 215-354-7032) or Max (maxpafford98@gmail.com; 615-318-7126). If you have any questions on the wedding day, please contact someone else (this person will be designated at a later time).
Question

Will Nick Saban be in attendance?

Answer

I seriously doubt it, but he is welcome, and “Dixieland Delight” will be played (the version sung at the University of Alabama). Also, as of writing, Kalen DeBoer has not yet earned an invite.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

As soon as possible would be ideal. Our guest count must be given to our venue approximately 2-3 weeks prior to the wedding. Due to the holidays, our RSVP deadline is December 15th. Please communicate whether you intend to come or not, or let us know that there will be a delay in your response time.

Question

What if I need to change my RSVP?

Answer

If one or more guests in your party need to edit your RSVP, you can do so online through the same link you originally used to respond. If you are changing attendance status from no to yes and it is less than three weeks from the wedding, you will need to reach out to Max or Shannon first to confirm if there is space first.

Question

What does black tie optional mean for the dress code?

Answer

Black tie optional for men: tux or full dark suit with dress shoes. Black tie optional for women: evening gown with or without gloves or full-length dark dress. A jumpsuit that matches the formality level of a gown or dress is acceptable as well. Basically, think of it as black tie is the preference, but regular formal wear is totally fine as well, as we understand renting a tux or a new evening gown is not possible for all guests. If possible, please do not wear burgundy or clothing with busy patterns. And, obviously, white/cream/ivory is not acceptable.

Question

Can I bring a date or children?

Answer

Any guests in serious relationships are, of course, invited to bring their significant other. If you are in such a relationship and your invitation did not specify “and Guest”, please let us know and we will add one for you. We kindly ask that your child(ren) stay at home for the wedding, unless they are specifically named on the invitation. Enjoy the night off! If you are traveling to the area with your child(ren), we can definitely set you up with a friend for babysitting — reach out to Shannon.

Question

What if the zombie apocalypse were to start in the middle of the festivities?

Answer

There are several guests among us who have significant experience in tense situations. We will look to them for further guidance. Notably, we would like to apologize, if this does occur, for dragging you all towards so many major population centers and undoubtedly lowering your chances of survival.

Question

What should I do if I have a food allergy or dietary restriction?

Answer

Perish. Kidding, obviously. When submitting your RSVP, there will be a question that requests you list any food allergies or dietary restrictions so that we can inform the chefs. If you have already submitted your RSVP and forgot to mention an allergy/intolerance/restriction, you can go back to the RSVP page to edit your response. We are providing a vegan entree option and can accommodate vegan desserts upon request.

Question

Is the venue handicap accessible?

Answer

Yes — there is an additional entrance to Pen Ryn with a ramp for wheelchair, walker, or cane users, a chair lift inside for the steps into the ballroom, and an accessible bathroom. St. Frances Cabrini is also accessible.

Question

Is there transportation?

Answer

We have hired a shuttle service to take guests from Pen Ryn at the end of the reception to the hotel. It will begin making trips at 9:30pm. However, guests will need to provide their own transportation on the way there. For guests who live in the area, we very strongly encourage driving or carpooling. If you find you cannot drive home safely at the end of the night, you can leave your car at Pen Ryn for morning pickup.

Question

What’s the weather like in Philly this time of year?

Answer

Southerners: Do not panic. You can typically expect highs of 32-40 and lows of 20-28 degrees Fahrenheit. You will need a decent coat (there will be a coat check at the reception). It’s really not that bad though. If there is precipitation, it could be snow, sleet, or rain, depending on the temperature. If there’s snow, this area has all the infrastructure to get the roads salted and cleared quickly, if needed. Unless we get an actual blizzard (unlikely), stores, ride services, and the like will pretty much proceed as normal.

Question

It is painfully obvious which parts of this website the groom edited.

Answer

We know.
