September in Europe is a beautiful time to visit. The weather is a perfect mix of warm summer days and spring flowers. We highly suggest that you plan a European vacation! There is something magical about walking down old cobblestone streets lined with historical architecture. And all the gelato! Due to Covid, we suggest booking your flight with a full cancellation policy as a precaution. We do not foresee any Covid issues & Europe is opening to vaccinated travelers in June 2021. Germany is a fantastic starting (or ending) point for a European trip. It is centrally located by many European countries. When booked in advance, flights/ trains between the countries are inexpensive. Berlin is a cultural hot spot for a reason! Enjoy walking historical streets, visiting world-class museums, trying amazing pastries, and checking out the famous clubs and bars. The city always has something going on! P.S. Don't forget to check your passports and make sure they are valid through 2022!

Wir freuen uns riesig darauf, mit euch unsere Hochzeit zu feiern! Wir empfehlen allen impffähigen Gästen eine vollständige COVID-19-Immunisierung. Hotel de Rome benötigt zusätzlich einen negativen Antigen-Test, durchgeführt am 4. September. Es gibt Testzentren fußläufig zum Hotel. Tests sind kostenfrei. Es gilt die 3-G-Regelung (Genesen, Geimpft, Getestet). Das Hotel De Rome ist zentral in Berlin lokalisiert. Es gibt eine Tiefgarage, in der man parken kann, 50m vom Hoteleingang entfernt. Der Tageshöchstpreis beträgt 25 Euro. Hotel de Rome hält 50 Doppelzimmer für uns bereit. Wir würden uns riesig freuen, wenn ihr mit uns im selben Haus übernachten würdet. Leben muss genossen werden! Da wir im Herzen Berlins feiern, finden sich daneben allerdings zahlreiche Alternativunterkünfte verschiedenster Klassen, die man zu Fuß gut erreichen kann. Familien mit kleinen Kindern (2. Kind <3 Jahre) bitte Info an uns via email.

Flight

Berlin, Germany

The wedding is located in Berlin, Germany. The easiest airport to fly into is the Airport Berlin-Brandenburg. Note: this will involve one layover. If you would like to take a direct flight, we suggest flying into Munich or Frankfurt. Those are usually over-night flights of about 10 hours (better pack some Melatonin for the flight). Munich is a fantastic city to explore for a few days. From there, you can take a speed train into Berlin. Frankfurt is the financial capital of Europe. It is less touristy and we recommend using it as a starting point to travel into another city- such as Berlin! You should expect it to take approximately two nights to adjust to the time shift. Germany is 9 hours ahead of California. The jetlag can be difficult flying to Europe, especially from California. We suggest flying in a few days before the event.

Train

Intercity Express Trains

The German train system is incredible! There is are numerous high-speed trains connecting most larger cities such as Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt or Munich. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Matthias or Shannon. If you want to travel between countries, the train system is a great option, too. Who does not dream about a night train to Paris? Tickets booked in advance (about two months prior) and linked to a specific connection are cheap and allow seat reservation. Take a ride and explore the country without any hustle or stress in traffic! Besides, flights between countries can be unbelievably cheap. You can jump for some Spanish nights in Barcelona for less than 200 Euros roundtrip!

Hotel De Rome is where we are hosting our reception! This beautiful and historic hotel is located centrally in Berlin. Walk out the door and you are stepping into history. If you decide to book with this hotel, let them know you are booking for the Raschpichler-Popovich wedding.
