Please RSVP for both events by May 1st so that we can have an accurate head count when planning for food and drinks.
Due to the ever increasing costs of weddings, we have to be quite strict with how many people can come. Please know that only those listed on the RSVP form are invited to celebrate with us on our special day.
Norway: We would love for your kids to join us for the ceremony and dinner, however, after cake, we ask that all children under the age of 16 head home as the theme for the rest of the night will be "house party" and we want all the adults to be able to let loose and have a good time without worrying about the kids. Minnesota: We invite all children of all ages to dance the evening away with us.
You can either take the bus from Tromsø city center to Elverhoy Kirke for the wedding ceremony, call for a cab, or walk (30 minutes). You will take bus 26 (towards Tromsø Lufthavn via Giæverbukta) from the stop called Fredrik Langes Gate in town and get off at the stop called Holtvegen. From there it is just an 8-minute walk on a paved walking path. There is no transportation from the church to the location of the reception, however, it is a 25-minute walk or you can call a cab or take the bus. You will take bus 26 (towards Tromsdalen via sentrum) from the stop called Holtvegen (an 8-minute walk from the church) and get off at the stop called Petersborggata and the Maritime Skole is just 5 minutes up the street.
Yes, in Norway there is parking at both the church where the ceremony will be held and at the school where the reception will be held. Likewise, in Minnesota, there is plenty of parking at Rush Creek Golf Course.
We ask you to please arrive at least 15 minutes to the ceremony (12:45) so that you don't miss out on the ceremony.
Wedding in Norway: We invite those attending our celebration in Norway to dress in formal attire. For men, this means a suit in any color - have fun with it! And for women we suggest you wear an evening gown or a midi- or knee-length cocktail dress. Bunads are of course welcome as well, but keep in mind it will be a party after the dinner, so if you wish to bring a change of clothes so as not to overheat or get your bunad dirty, we completely understand. Reception in Minnesota: We invite our guests in Minnesota to wear semi-formal/dressy casual attire.
We have a registry at Kitch'n (a kitchen goods store in Norway). However, we recognize that this may be challenging for our non-Norwegian family and friends. Therefore, we have also set up a registry with Delta airlines and would greatly appreciate any cash gifts that can contribute to a down payment for a new home.
