We're getting married!

It all started in January 2019. On a seemingly ordinary Monday, Connor was working diligently at his desk in the Boston office of Tripadvisor. His colleague, Monica Gonzalez, approached him cautiously, knowing Connor wasn't the most approachable person at work. Finding a moment to interrupt, Monica said, "Connor, I'm sorry to bother you. I'd like to introduce you to the newest member of our team, Shannon." Connor begrudgingly turned around, and there she stood. Shannon, with her long brown hair gently swaying as she stepped forward, made an immediate impression. Their eyes met, and something stirred in Connor's heart. She looked like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, like Margot Robbie in The Wolf of Wall Street, like Rachel McAdams in The Notebook, all wrapped in one. “Hi Shannon.” Connor said. “I don’t know if this is coming on too strong, but you are the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen.” Now that didn’t happen exactly as written above. Shannon has corrected the author in the fact that Connor coldly stood up, shook her hand, and the only words that he uttered were, “Connor Roche, welcome aboard.” Within a few weeks, Connor found himself compelled to ask Shannon on a date. After a few work functions, he invited her for drinks at the Envoy Hotel rooftop, which offered heated igloos during Boston's brisk evenings. They chatted, they laughed, and soon afterward, they fell in love. Their relationship progressed quickly. In April, they took their first vacation together to Virginia's wine country. Six months later, Connor and Shannon moved in together in Revere, just outside Boston. Two years after that, they bought their first home in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. The couple was excited to settle into their new home, but life had other plans. Nine months after moving to Uxbridge, Connor was offered a job at Amazon in Washington, DC. They packed up their newly decorated home and moved to Georgetown, DC. Despite the challenges of frequent travel and having a new home they missed, Connor and Shannon's love continued to grow. After five years of dating, on April 7th, 2024 – Shannon's birthday – Connor finally proposed. "Will you marry me?" he asked. While there were no human witnesses, it's said that Tigger, a well-loved 9-inch tall stuffed animal from Winnie the Pooh, peered through the living room vent to witness the moment. This is their love story – one that started in Boston, led to Revere, settled briefly in Uxbridge, and then embraced the excitement of life in DC. Connor and Shannon wouldn't want it any other way.
