No! We are so appreciative of anybody who is able to take the time to attend our wedding all the way in Cancún, so we will not accept any further gifts.
Your expenses will only be: (1) flight to Cancun, (2) resort stay at Dreams Jade, (3) possibly transportation from the airport to the resort and vice-versa. Dreams Jade Resort & Spa is a wonderful, all-inclusive resort, so food, drinks, and activities while you stay at the resort are already included! Any excursions you choose to do outside of the resort on your own will, of course, be at your personal expense. Regarding airport transportation, we will cover it for our guests on high-traffic days (such as May 7th and May 10th). However, if you choose to extend your vacation, you may have to cover your own airport transportation. Please refer to the "Booking Information" tab for full details and to let us know your flight information as soon as you book them so we can evaluate transportation options. Thank you!
We have had a few folks ask this so we want to clarify directly: NONE of your booking cost goes towards our wedding cost. We are obviously handling all cost for the events, Indian food, private bars, decor, music, henna, etc ourselves. The cost you will be paying to our travel agent is entirely just your room cost (and at a rate below the listed rate on the Dreams Jade website, Expedia, & Booking.com for May 2026).
Absolutely not! Indian and Western attire suggestions are provided for each event in our Events tab. Our goal is that nobody should need to buy anything to wear specifically for our wedding, so please just wear something you already have that you feel comfortable in!
We've had a few guests ask this so I wrote up a guide of outfit options and where you can purchase them within the US. Here it is: https://tinyurl.com/guest-indian-outfit-guide Feel free to reach out to Shailja with any additional questions or if you just want a recommendation!
Absolutely not! All wedding events will be accessible to guests staying in any part of the resort. The Welcome Cocktail Party & Mehendi is at the Preferred Pool Terrace, but guests from both sides of the resort are able to attend private wedding events at that location. We personally think the resort has plenty of restaurant options & beautiful pool/beach areas aside from the few Preferred areas. The main perk of opting for Preferred is a few adults-only areas. Refer to page 3 of the Resort Guide we have linked on our "Resort + Booking Info" tab for full details. Please note that children under 18 may stay in Preferred rooms & can enter the Preferred lounge, but will not have access to the adults-only pool or breakfast.
