Attire Notes for All Events: 1. There is absolutely no requirement or pressure to wear Indian outfits for any events whatsoever. Please just wear what you will be most comfortable in! 2. If you don’t have Indian attire, but rather some cool attire from your own culture, please also feel free to wear that. We would love to see more colorful, fun cultural outfits! 3. Indian weddings have no restrictions on colors guests may wear. For the ceremony, the bride actually wears red, not white, so please feel free to wear any color you would like to! 4. If you would like to purchase Indian attire for the wedding (again, truly no pressure at all), here is a detailed guide I wrote to help you choose an outfit: https://tinyurl.com/guest-indian-outfit-guide

Welcome Cocktail & Mehendi

7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Preferred Pool Terrace

Event Details: A welcome party to get to know each other & kick off the weekend! Mehendi (henna) artists will be available from 7pm-9pm to do quick designs on anybody who would like. Drinks and light appetizers will be served from 8pm - 9pm. This will not be a full dinner, so please plan to eat at one of the resort's restaurants before or after!

Attire Suggestions: For this event, think Beach Club Party! Ideas for women: florals, sundresses, rompers. Ideas for men: khakis, polos, floral shirts. However, this event is a rather-casual welcome party, so please do not stress too much! For anybody who plans on getting mehendi (henna) done on your hands, keep that in mind as well.

Sangeet

7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Garden

Event Details: Welcome to a night of song & dance! A fun, Indian tradition, the Sangeet will feature dance performances from the bride & groom, family, and close friends, then the dance floor will open up to everybody. This is less formal than a Reception, so just come ready to have fun! We will have a Mexican buffet dinner (with vegetarian options) and open bar.

Attire Suggestions: If you have Indian attire, this is a great time to wear it! If not, semi-formal. Ideas for women: cocktail dresses of any length, elegant jumpsuits. Ideas for men: dress shirts and slacks/khakis (no blazers/ties needed).

Baraat

9:30 am - 10:15 am

Through the Garden

Event Details: The groom's grand entrance! Please join Justin and his family in dancing through the garden to travel to the ceremony location. Get ready for some salsa & bachata! While this event was traditionally only for the groom's side to travel from their city to the bride's, we won't tell if the bride's side joins in the festivities!

Attire Suggestions: If you have Indian attire, this is a great time to wear it! If not, dress formally for this event as it transitions right into the ceremony. For women: long, formal dresses or similar. For men: dress shirts & slacks (blazers not required due to potential heat).

Hindu Ceremony

10:30 am - 11:30 am

Pergola

The main event! Join us for the Ceremony. Water and soda will be available throughout the event, but food will not be served.

Attire Suggestions: If you have Indian attire, this is a great time to wear it! If not, formal wear is requested. For women: long, formal dresses or similar. For men: dress shirts & slacks (blazers not required due to potential heat). Our family will have the men wearing Indian sherwanis/kurtas and women wearing Indian lehengas/sarees, but please choose whatever formal attire you are most comfortable in!

Reception

7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Castaways Restaurant

Event Details: Time to celebrate! We will have an Indian buffet dinner and open bar.

Attire Suggestions: Formal, black-tie Indian or Western attire. (You are more than welcome to continue wearing what you wore for the ceremony earlier in the day). Our family will have the men wearing suits/tuxedos and women wearing Indian lehengas/sarees, so please choose whatever formal attire you are most comfortable in!
