FAQs

A few A's for some Q's you might have.
Question

What’s the dress code?

Answer

We're envisioning an elegant, formal affair. Dress to impress. No need to cross the threshold into tuxedos, but you're in the right ballpark thinking about it. Suits, gowns and cocktail dresses preferred.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We're never happier than when we get to hang with your kids. But we want our wedding to be your night off!* If you're in need of a babysitter, we recommend contacting NWNannies, a local network of trained childcare professionals that offers a specialized service for wedding guests. Our direct contacts there are Linda Roffe and Tena Graham and they can be reached at temps@nwnannies.net. *However! Kiddos are more than welcome at the aufruf, if you're attending, and Monday's brunch.

Question

How much parking is available?

Answer

Street parking is extremely limited around The Sentinel. We urge you to take Lyft or public transit. There is a MAX stop (light rail) at SW 10th/Morrison, and there are multiple Portland Streetcar stops a block away. (All that said, if need be, there is a 24-hour parking garage around the block, the SmartPark at SW 10th/Yamhill. The Sentinel also offers valet parking at $45 a pop.)

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

A story: the first wedding we ever attended together, we arrived just a couple minutes late and were standing behind the aisle as the bride began walking down the staircase. Terrifying. Don't be like us: please arrive 15-20 minutes early to give yourself plenty of time to get yourself situated in what will be a fairly cozy (read: tightly packed) reception space.

Question

Are there wedding hotel room blocks?

Answer

Yes, we've reserved rooms at a nearby hotel: Hotel deLuxe. See the "Hotels" tab for more info. Please note: our hotel block wedding rate expires on April 19, so if you want one act quickly...

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Wednesday, May 1, 2019!

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

Lord knows we have our phones out all the damn time, so it's not like we don't see the hypocrisy here but: we would love you to be in the moment during our ceremony. We've hired a fantastic photographer to capture the moment, so you're all off the hook on this one.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes. Unfortunately, space issues prevent us from being able to accommodate extra guests.

Question

Is there someone I can contact if I have any other questions?

Answer

Yes, her name is Catherine, she is the absolute best and her cell is (949) 697-0884. Call or text her about anything, unless you just want to tell someone how great we are — we'll take those calls directly, thanks.
