A traditional honor for Jewish couples, Aufruf literally means "calling up" in Yiddish as the couple is called to the Torah for a blessing and some words by the rabbi. You are more than welcome to join us at shul, but it is absolutely, completely, 100% optional. (In other words: please do not alter flight plans to attend this!) Luncheon to follow, hosted by Judi Zyroff and Judy Grinberg -- the absolute best. Just over the state border, travel to Kol Ami from downtown Portland on a Saturday morning is just 20-25min via Lyft, Uber, or rental car. Dress code: shul clothes.
