Our discount code applies Wednesday, 11/5-Sunday, 11/9. If you'd like to arrive early or stay past Sunday, you will need to make a separate reservation. FYI: Cara does not have an elevator - please keep that in mind if you're staying in a balcony room. If you'd like to avoid the stairs, we suggest selecting a courtyard room. Courtyard ADA rooms are available if needed. Cara Hotel is a hidden gem in plain sight located in Los Feliz at the foothills of Griffith Park, just a short drive away from Silver Lake. With a nod to the Gaelic translation of Cara, meaning friend, the Cara Hotel hopes to evoke a sense of comfort and warmth amidst thoughtful design and a deep engagement with the spirit of California. Seldy and Eric have always loved escaping to Cara for an after-work drink or Sunday brunch, so we're thrilled to make it our home base for the wedding weekend. We can't wait to share this little oasis with our family and friends!

Travel Note
If you have a reasonably priced option to fly into Hollywood Burbank Airport, we highly recommend choosing it. This regional airport is a fraction of the size of Los Angeles International, and is closer to the wedding venues and festivities - about a 25-40 minute drive, versus the 40-80 minutes you're looking at coming from LAX. That said, LAX is one of the largest airports in the world and will offer more flight options at better prices.
Travel Note
Ride Share Apps: Likely the preferred method for visitors coming into LA, you have all the options available to you here - Uber, Lyft, Alto, and driverless Waymo - (but note, Waymo does not service airports.) Because of their widespread availability, these rides are quick, flexible, and relatively cost effective - but of course, can add up if you plan on hopping around. That said, you won't have to worry about insurance or paying for parking - which is standard across LA, and can occasionally get pricey. Rental Cars: Again, you'll have all the major brands available to you out of LAX - but note that you may have to endure a lengthy wait for pickup upon arrival, sometimes hours. In the past, our friends have found it preferable to take ride shares into town and then rent cars nearby their hotels - Enterprise has great locations on Beverly Blvd in Mid City, and Gower Street in Hollywood. Parking is rarely free and can be inconvenient in Los Angeles, so remember to incorporate parking your rental car into your weekend planning.
Travel Note
So you hopped off the plane at LAX...now what? Private Car: Unless you have a true Angel-eno friend picking you up, private cars are your only curbside option at LAX. We ourselves use Uber Black - just reserve the ride ahead of time in the app, and plug in your flight details to find a driver. This should typically cost anywhere from $90-175 to get to Cara Hotel, depending on arrival time. Uber: Follow signs to the LAX-it shuttle stop outside the arrival terminal. This is where Uber, Lyft, and other ride-shares pick up. The bright green “LAX-it” shuttles run frequently and free—just hop on with your bags. They’ll drop you right at the official ride-share pick-up zone, only a few minutes away. At the pick-up zone, open your app and choose your destination. Shuttle and ride-share zones are clearly marked, so follow signage and your app’s instructions. This should typically cost anywhere from $60-150 to get to Cara Hotel, depending on arrival time. Rental Car: Exit the terminal on ground floor arrivals and look for the purple Rental Car Shuttles signs along the curb. Most major rental companies—Enterprise, Hertz, Avis, Budget, Alamo, etc.—have clearly marked shuttles that arrive every 5–10 minutes. The shuttle ride to your rental agency takes about 10–15 minutes depending on traffic. Once at the rental center, you’ll check in with your reservation.
Travel Note
Uber or Lyft: After retrieving luggage, open your app and request a ride. Exit onto the ground (arrivals) level and follow signs to the “Rideshare Pickup Area” located on the island across from Terminal B. You'll meet your driver there - trips into East LA should cost around $50. Pro tip: Reserve your ride in advance with for guaranteed arrival & pricing post-flight. Rental Car Pickup: From baggage claim, follow signs to the Regional Intermodal Transportation Center (RITC)—the consolidated rental facility connected by an elevated walkway and moving sidewalks, about a 7-minute walk from the terminal. All major rental agencies (Enterprise, Hertz, Avis, etc.) are located inside this facility—no shuttle ride required. Once you check in and complete paperwork, rental counters are just steps from the car lots inside the RITC building. Getting into East LA should also take about 30 mins.
