Welcome to Los Angeles! We cannot wait to share this special occasion with you, and are honored to have you in our home city. We know weddings can be a whirlwind, so we wanted to share some of our favorite local spots for those looking to explore before or after the festivities. From iconic landmarks and hikes with sweeping views, to Hollywood favorites and those off-the-beaten-path gems - we've got you covered. Most of this list highlights our neighborhood in East LA to help you enjoy nearby hotspots, but we've got some landmarks on here as well if you want to brave our famous freeways (and traffic!) We hope you get a chance to experience a little slice of what makes this city feel like home to us.

Whether you’re starstruck by science or skyline views, the Griffith Observatory has you covered. Explore exhibits about space and time, then step outside to soak in one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Los Angeles, including the iconic Hollywood Sign. Nestled in one of the largest urban parks in the U.S., it’s a great starting point for hikes or sunset strolls. While parking is available at the Observatory, it can get packed and pricey, so ride shares are a good alternative. Nearby hotspot: Head to The Trails Café, nestled inside the park itself, for a rustic bite—don’t miss their famous scones and lavender lemonade.

Perched atop a hill with panoramic views of the city, Barnsdall Art Park is a peaceful haven for art lovers and architecture fans. The crown jewel is Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House—his first LA design and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It’s a dreamy mix of Mayan and California modernism, perfect for golden hour photos and a quiet city escape. Nearby hotspot: Stop by Go Get Em Tiger in Los Feliz for excellent espresso drinks and flaky baked goods that rival the view.

For more adventure, the theme park side offers immersive attractions like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Super Nintendo World, and Jurassic World – The Ride. Whether you’re a film buff, a rollercoaster fan, or just here for the butterbeer, it’s a full day of Hollywood-style fun.

Just minutes from Hollywood Boulevard, this rugged urban trail offers quick cardio with big, city-sweeping view that make it worth the climb. Bring water, comfy shoes, and your best athleisure look. Parking is very tough near the Runyon entrances, so make this a rideshare adventure. Nearby hotspot: Cool down with a smoothie or brunch at The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker—a photogenic West Hollywood staple known for its bright plates and buzzy patio.

Shop everything from high-end brands to fresh farmers market finds. Just next door, Pan Pacific Park offers a relaxing spot to unwind under the trees with an iced latte in hand. Nearby hotspot: You’re not far from République, one of LA’s most celebrated brunch and dinner spots, serving elevated French-Californian fare in a stunning cathedral-like space.

Channel your inner movie star with a stroll down Rodeo Drive, where luxury reigns and window-shopping feels like an Olympic sport. From haute couture to high-end cars, it’s glamor at its most unapologetic. Don’t forget to swing by the Beverly Hills sign for that essential photo-op—or just people-watch at a sidewalk café where the lattes are frothy and the gossip is fresher. From East LA, give yourself about 30 minutes to get to/from your Beverly Hills escape. Nearby hotspot: Sip an espresso at Alfred Coffee Beverly Hills, the chicest place to caffeinate and say “but first, coffee” in real life.

Perched high above Los Angeles, the Getty Center is a stunning blend of world-class art, iconic architecture, and lush gardens—all with panoramic views of the city and ocean. Explore its impressive collection—from European masterpieces and contemporary sculptures to rotating exhibitions—then take a tram ride up to the hilltop campus followed by a stroll through the Central Garden. Admission is free, (parking is not,) but it’s easy to spend a relaxed half or full day here soaking in art and sunshine. The Getty has a solid restaurant in house (reservations recommended,) otherwise check out LA staple Jon & Vinnys in Brentwood, a beloved neighborhood Italian diner for pizza and pasta lovers. Coming from East LA, getting to and from the Getty could take you anywhere from 25-45 minutes, so plan accordingly!

Santa Monica Pier & Beach

A quintessential Southern California experience awaits at Santa Monica: 3½ miles of golden sand, a historic pier dating back to 1909, and the vibrant amusements of Pacific Park with its solar-powered Ferris wheel. From casual beachfront strolls and tourist-watching to carnival games, carousel rides, and tasty milkshakes, there’s a laid-back charm here that keeps both locals and visitors coming back. It’s a perfect escape to unwind, snap pics, and feel the ocean breeze amid endless summer vibes. Santa Monica is on the opposite side of the city from East LA, so expect 40-60+ minutes of travel by car. Nearby hotspots: Located right on the pier, The Albright is a casual seafood spot emphasizes fresh, sustainable dishes. And on a breezy rooftop just blocks from the beach, Élephante offers Southern Mediterranean–inspired small plates, creative pastas, and pizzas—ideal for sharing over ocean views and sunset cocktails.
