Question

How do I get to Sisters, Oregon?

Answer

For those in or near the Pacific Northwest, Sisters is located a little under 3 hours from Portland, 2 hours from Eugene, and under 6 hours from Seattle by car. If you prefer to fly, Redmond airport (RDM) offers direct flights from most West Coast cities, more information here: https://flyrdm.com/flights/airlines-direct-flights/. For those traveling further, you may likely need 1-2 transfers to fly to Redmond. Or you may choose to fly to Portland and drive to Sisters. Portland airport (PDX) has more frequent service, lower fares, and more rental car availability. If you are driving, you can check road conditions at www.tripcheck.com. Please allow time to drive carefully as there are mountain roads with little lighting and active wildlife.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Dress code is mountain semi-formal, mountain formal, or mountain chic. The venue is outdoors, and we will be outside whether warm, cold, windy or sunny. We encourage splashes of color and for our guests to dress up and be comfortable, knowing that you'll be walking on cut grass and gravel.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

See lodging options under the 'Travel' tab. June is the beginning of high travel season, so we encourage booking early.

Question

Is smoking allowed?

Answer

As this is Central Oregon in the summer, fires are a big hazard here. For this reason, Pole Creek Ranch does not allow smoking anywhere in the property. Please plan to not be able to smoke throughout the whole celebration.

Question

What if I don't have a car?

Answer

We encourage our guests to carpool, both for saving money and the environment. If this is not an option, Lyft/Uber and cab companies do operate in the area. There are also several transportation companies which can provide transport between Redmond airport and your hotel.

Question

That's a long way to travel! What about the environment?

Answer

We're so glad you asked! Traveling to Central Oregon is going to have a significant environmental impact for most, there's no avoiding that. First, to help minimize emissions, we encourage taking flights with as few stops as possible, and traveling together when possible. For the remaining emissions that can't be avoided, we have put together some recommendations for organizations that can help: Travelers on Alaska Airlines can contribute to Alaska's Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) fund and earn loyalty benefits. More at https://alaskaair.chooose.today/ OR Anyone can contribute to one of the non-profits improving land management in Oregon listed in our Charity Fund -To determine how much it takes to offset, we recommend calculating your CO2 here https://sustainabletravel.org/our-work/carbon-offsets/calculate-footprint/, and using the federal estimate of $51/ton. Or, contribute whatever amount is meaningful to you.
