Travel Note
It is often easier to fly into Boston instead of Providence. Flying from LA, we prefer the direct flight and have found it to be less stressful and much more affordable. Getting into town is easy: if you rent a car, it's a 60-90 minute drive into RI. Alternatively, you can take an hour-long Amtrak train from South Station (code BOS) right into Kingstown, RI (code KIN), which is what Sean and I usually do. Renting a car in town is available as well if you prefer this option (keep in mind that Boston is a large city with traffic, especially on a holiday weekend). To get to South Station from Logan Airport, simply go to baggage claim and follow signs for the Silver Line bus, which will take you for free to South Station (minimal fee back to return to airport). If you prefer to fly directly into Rhode Island, TF Green airport in Providence is the closest and about 20-30 minutes from South Kingstown and Narragansett.
Rental Car
If you take the train into Kingstown station, this is a convenient place to rent a car in town (4 1/2 miles from train station). Please note that Uber is available in town but is typically slow. If you don't want to rent a car, we recommend staying directly in Narragansett near the pier at a rental home, Aqua Blue, or Ocean Rose.
Travel Note
We highly recommend looking into rental properties for a great experience. Airbnb and VRBO have lots of affordable, great options near Narragansett for under $200/night. If you prefer to stay in a hotel, we have blocks reserved at the Hampton Inn (15 rooms) and Holiday Inn (10 rooms) in South Kingstown (see details below). Other hotel recommendations in the area are below as well. Another great option is to stay in Newport, RI, where there are plenty of boutique and larger hotel or home rental options and plenty of things to do. Driving to the wedding venue and activities will take around 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Click "view details" below for some hotel options in the area (please note these have not been personally vetted).
