Best Man
Sean's little brother, fellow bookworm (though Paddy has probably read more), and board game opponent (Paddy always wins). Paddy and Sean have been by each other's sides through thick and thin. It would take too long to recount all of the reasons why Paddy is important to Sean, but suffice to say that Sean could not imagine a better brother than Paddy. No one is more hard-working and deserving of their success than Sean's little brother, and seeing Paddy graduate college and go on to do an English PhD out in California is still one of the proudest moment of Sean's life.
Maid of Honor
Alex and Adrienne met over 20 years ago when Alex showed up at the hospital and their grandmother told her that this was her baby sister. There was a fair amount of fighting over barbies and who got to choose which movie we were going to watch, but now they're thick as thieves. Alex knew that Adrienne would be the perfect maid of honor because she's highly organized, dedicated, and loving even though she plays tough. Adrienne will also probably bring everyone to tears with her speech on the wedding day.
Groomsman
Rick and Sean have been friends since they first met back in middle school. Sean and Rick spent their middle and high school years taking in movies on Friday nights at Pittsford Plaza, trading jokes, and generally being a pair of dorks together. Though life may have taken them both away from Rochester, they have stayed close and still manage to be dorks together even if they can't make it to the Pittsford Applebees.
Bridesmaid
Ruqayyah and Alex met in the Africana pre-freshman program at Penn. They became fast friends, and spent four years gossiping in dorm rooms, having serious conversations via snapchat video, and occasionally hitting the dance floor at a party. Ruqayyah has seen Alex through her fair share of drama, and has been the most steadfast friend with the most straightforward advice. There is no better friend to have by your side at a wedding, and there will be lots of giggling between them in the getting-ready suite.
Groomsman
Sean's best buddy and roommate times 3 from college. Sean and Tony were the perfect pair in college and their shared room is still famous for being one of the messiest places any of their friends had ever seen. These two bonded over a shared love of all things nerdy and to this day they seem to share a secret language of pop culture references and in-jokes that is total gibberish to the average listener. Even when he is deployed, Tony makes the effort to keep in touch and he's been a constant friend to Sean since they met.
Bridesmaid
Ciara and Alex met at a Jack and Jill event when they were both in high school, but it wasn't until they were both on the tennis team together that they became good friends. Ciara spent New Year's Eve with Alex (the first one Alex spent without her parents) catching up on life and eating Chinese Food and Ciara is also the friend responsible for getting Alex to choose Penn- they visited the school together over Labor Day and Alex fell in love. Ciara is the best straight- shooting, Pinterest-sending, macaroon-baking friend who wakes up at the exact same time as Alex. Alex is so grateful to have Ciara by her side so they can be introverted cats together at the reception.
