Our favorite taco spot in Baltimore. Tacos were a mainstay of our relationship and we recommend Clavel very highly! The hot salsa is great and the margaritas are also a must-have. Sean is a fan of the chicken and fish tacos and Alex recommends the barbacoa and the fish. Be warned, Claval is one of Baltimore's most popular spots and you will need to show up right at 5pm if you want to get a table without a wait!
Our favorite restaurant in Baltimore! No need for a specific recommendation since everything is great. However, we do love the foot long mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, and Alex's favorite is the duck.
The perfect spot for a sweet treat. The Charmery always has lots of unique flavors that rotate all the time. If it is available, try the Ice Cream Sando, it's one of our favorites.
If you need a place for lunch, you can't beat the delicious sandwiches at Luigi's. Alex is a fan of the Sollozo and Sean likes to order the Sonny.
If you like variety, Mount Vernon Market is for you! This food hall is located in one of our favorite parts of the city and has lots of great options to choose from. We are both fans of Between 2 Bun's burgers and its Peruvian Chicken Burger is a a great option. Be sure to check out some of the drinks at Tapps, especially their ciders.
Our regular coffee and lunch spot. We had many study dates at Bird in Hand and a good amount of Sean's early classwork at Alex's PhD applications were done on Bird in Hand's tables.
Our favorite comic book store. One of our most common dates was a visit to Collector's Corner followed by a meal at Mount Vernon Market. They often have sales running, so be sure to check it out if you are in need of reading material.
A great place to eat if you are in Downton Baltimore. Ida B's soul food is to die for and the restaurant is a great location to spend an evening. If you order the hot chicken, beware they aren't kidding about the spice!
Our favorite Saturday tradition. Once Alex introduced Sean to the wonders of this local farmers market, the two went every Saturday morning rain, snow. or shine. We may not be able to make it to Baltimore every weekend anymore, but we still keep the farmers market tradition alive down in our new home.
A charming antique shop in the artsy Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore. We would often stop in here on our dates and we always found lots of cute and interesting things.
A beautiful flower park just north of where we used to live. Both years we lived in Baltimore we had a great time visiting the spring tulip displays and taking in the scenery.
The site of our first date. If you are looking for a meal, Sweet 27 has a wide variety of gluten-free options on its eclectic menu. If you are looking for something sweet, there is a cafe and bakery attached to the resturant that makes great cupcakes.
A Baltimore institution with a decor as unique as Baltimore itself. You can't go wrong with Papermoon's breakfast options, but the lunch and dinner food is just as good. If you decide to get a slice of cake, be sure to bring backup since the portions are generous. We both were not able to finish their red velvet cake no matter how much we wanted to!
