Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Caitlyn Darnell and Scott Keith
We know that traveling for a wedding is a whole thing. Our wedding falls on a holiday weekend, so we hope that you'll come stay a minute and enjoy the city we've fallen in love with. Here are a few of our favorite spots...

Soda City Market

1300-1600 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201

This is a fantastic open air market on Saturdays full of local makers and great food. Also the best dog watching in town. $ - $$

Transmission Arcade

1712 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201
, (803) 667-9140

Our favorite and frequent date night spot. Get the mushroom gravy smothered fries. $ (or $$ if you buy a lot of tokens to beat someone's high score)

NoMa Warehouse

2222 Sumter Street, Columbia, SC 29201
, (803) 931-3470

Every Friday they host the "NOMA Flea!" It's a little market where local makers peddle their wares, along with pints and food trucks. It's a fun vibe.

Mast General Store Columbia

1601 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201
, (803) 771-2300

The South, in a store. Find cute souvenirs and treasures to take home.

EdVenture Children's Museum

211 Gervais Street, Columbia, SC 29201
, (803) 779-3100

Bringing the kids? Set them loose. They'll probably learn something and have fun doing it.

Congaree National Park

100 National Park Road, Hopkins, SC 29061
, (803) 776-4396

If the South Carolina midlands had hiking, this is where you'd find it. See our beautiful landscape. You might even catch a firefly.

Sesquicentennial State Park

9564 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29223
, (803) 788-2706

If you want to check out the outdoors a little closer to home base, Sesqui is your park. Miles of hiking trails, a playground, a splashpad for kids, and a small lake with kayak and canoe rentals. $

The War Mouth

1209 Franklin Street, Columbia, SC 29201
, (803) 569-6144

Need a good place to eat while you're in town? This is the place to go. Excellent food, great drinks, very chill vibe. $$+

Hunter-Gatherer Brewery/Taproom

1402 Jim Hamilton Boulevard, Columbia, SC 29205
, (803) 764-1237

Brewery in an old airplane hangar. We love the beer cheese pretzels and getting a flight (while watching the flights at the airfield). $

Sweet Cream Co.

1627 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201
, (803) 251-3311

Really. REALLY. Good. Ice cream. Nuff said. $-$$

Tubing or Kayaking the Saluda

Tubing or Kayaking the Saluda

Rent an innertube or kayak and spend some time on one of Columbia's three rivers. If you can't beat the heat, join it I guess.

Juneteenth celebrations

Our wedding weekend falls over the Juneteenth holiday. Check out any of the Soda City's vibrant celebrations, murals, and memorials. If you're a history buff, you might enjoy the Reconstruction museum or the Modjeska Simpkins house, or if you're a foodie head to one of the really excellent vegan soul food restaurants.

Add a day trip

Two hours to Myrtle Beach. Two hours to Charleston. Or two hours to the mountains of Asheville. Tack on a day trip to your visit with us and check out some of the other great things the Carolinas have to offer. Caitlyn suggests the mountains. Scott suggests the beach. It's a good thing we live in the middle.

For all the days along the way
