Our favorite and frequent date night spot. Get the mushroom gravy smothered fries. $ (or $$ if you buy a lot of tokens to beat someone's high score)
Every Friday they host the "NOMA Flea!" It's a little market where local makers peddle their wares, along with pints and food trucks. It's a fun vibe.
The South, in a store. Find cute souvenirs and treasures to take home.
Bringing the kids? Set them loose. They'll probably learn something and have fun doing it.
If the South Carolina midlands had hiking, this is where you'd find it. See our beautiful landscape. You might even catch a firefly.
If you want to check out the outdoors a little closer to home base, Sesqui is your park. Miles of hiking trails, a playground, a splashpad for kids, and a small lake with kayak and canoe rentals. $
Need a good place to eat while you're in town? This is the place to go. Excellent food, great drinks, very chill vibe. $$+
Brewery in an old airplane hangar. We love the beer cheese pretzels and getting a flight (while watching the flights at the airfield). $
Really. REALLY. Good. Ice cream. Nuff said. $-$$
Our wedding weekend falls over the Juneteenth holiday. Check out any of the Soda City's vibrant celebrations, murals, and memorials. If you're a history buff, you might enjoy the Reconstruction museum or the Modjeska Simpkins house, or if you're a foodie head to one of the really excellent vegan soul food restaurants.
Two hours to Myrtle Beach. Two hours to Charleston. Or two hours to the mountains of Asheville. Tack on a day trip to your visit with us and check out some of the other great things the Carolinas have to offer. Caitlyn suggests the mountains. Scott suggests the beach. It's a good thing we live in the middle.
