Everyone will have a chance to celebrate with us and give their best wishes. There is a casual "snow cone" reception on the lawn immediately following the ceremony for all guests who came to pray with us and celebrate our union. Select family and close friends have been invited to a private dinner later in the evening.
YES! We'd love for ALL of our loved ones and friends to join us! During the ceremony, children can pick up an activity pack to color in and enjoy. At the private dinner reception, we'll have a professionally staffed nursery for infants and a "playground lifeguard" on duty to supervise the playground while adults enjoy boring adult stuff inside. We can also give you names for great local babysitters.
Well...the official motto of Columbia is "Famously hot." It's the South, so plan for hot and humid summer weather. Like, really hot. All of our wedding activities will be in the AC for the comfort of our guests and the sake of the bride's hair.
Wedding ceremonies are public events in The Episcopal Church, and no RSVP is necessary for that. Those who have been invited to the private evening reception should RSVP as soon as you can, but no later than April 31.
Please plan to arrive at least 15-20 minutes early to the ceremony to ensure you are seated and comfortable for it to begin. It is going to be a full house, so it is important that you arrive before the organ prelude begins.
Yes, there is ample parking at the church for our guests in the back lot, and on the sides of the church both in marked spaces and along the lawn. We suggest carpooling with others if you can.
Yes! There are handicap parking spaces available near the sanctuary doors and near the doors to the reception hall, as well as driveways for door side drop off.
