It’s your traditional 2020 love story: couple meets online during a global pandemic. Scott was a wise man and commented on his family connections to Madison, WI and the Wisconsin Badgers which is one of Casey’s favorite things to talk about. Casey took the bait. They exchanged messages for a few days and Scott claims that Casey was initially resistant to his attempts to get together for a date, but Casey denies these claims. Casey finally agreed to a phone date to get to know more about Scott. The conversation went well and they decided to meet in person for takeout Sushi and a movie. The two quickly hit it off and since their schedules were more open with everything on pause due to COVID they began spending most of their free time together cooking, expanding the list of movies Casey has seen beyond 10, and spending time outside. It wasn’t long before they both realized this relationship was something special.
It was February 27th, the plan for the day was to get some dinner with friends prior to going to play Bingo to celebrate Casey’s birthday. Little did Casey know, Scott had picked up the ring the day before and was too excited to wait any longer to ask. Scott and Casey had stopped at Casey’s house for her to finish getting ready for the night with her roommate April. Casey had gone into her bedroom to get her fanny pack; you can’t play bingo without a fanny pack. Scott came in and told Casey he had a question. She assumed he was going to clarify the plans for the evening, but he took her by complete surprise and got down on one knee. After a few “Are you serious?”, a handful of “Oh My God!” and many “Holy $hits”, Casey finally got out a “YES!”.
