Question

Parking information

Answer

PARKING in the surrounding area is available but the walking environment is less than desirable. Please consider taking Lyft or Uber to the venue's garden-side gate on Munras Avenue (We suggest you use the Alta Bakery address to be dropped off on the correct side of the venue: 502 Munras Ave Monterey, 93940 and ask to be dropped off directly at the Barns of Cooper Molera next to the bakery)

Question

May I have the recipe for (Chicken) Soup of Love?

Answer

Yes. Here it is, with love from Helen & Scott! AKA Stalker Soup. It's technically called, The Very Best Chicken Soup, by Martha Stewart. Ingredients: 8 cups low-sodium, canned chicken stock. (2) 8 oz skinless, boneless chicken breasts, trimmed of fat. 2 large carrots, sliced into 1/4" rounds (About 2 1/2 cups) 1 small fennel bulb, sliced very thin, preferably on a mandoline 1/2 C puntarella, or other bitter greens such as escarole. 1 C. cooked cranberry, white, navy or Great Northern beans. Kosher salt, ground black pepper. Serves 4 In 3 qt. soup pot, simmer the stock. Add the chicken and poach until opaque & firm, about 10 minutes. Transfer to a plate. Add the carrots to the broth and cook until fork tender, about 10 minutes. Add the fennel, greens, beans and simmer. Shred chicken into 1-inch strips with your hands. Add to pot and simmer until the chicken is heated through, about 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Ladle into 4 shallow soup bowls and serve. Or leave on a doorstep, in a Le Creuset 6-quart pot, in the drizzling rain and hope for the best!
