Blue Ridge Scenic Railway
Michael and I took this train ride last year and it was wonderful. Ride the railway into TN and enjoy the scenic view of the mountains and river on the way. Stop off at a small town in TN for lunch and relax on your way back to Blue Ridge at the end of your adventure. We highly recommend that you get tickets far in advance because this often sells out.
Aska Trails Blue Ridge Mountains
There are several hiking trails in Blue Ridge that are a great way to take in the mountain air and enjoy nature while here.
Mercier Orchards
For great candied apples, cider donuts or hard cider, you may want to check out the orchards!
The General Ledger
We love it here for a great lunch or dinner option
Southern Charm
Reasonable and popular restaurant serving southern comfort food, right off Main St.
The Dogwood
Great coffee shop and atmosphere with casual feel and great back yard dining as well. This is located righr next to (and owned by the same people as) The Black Sheep Restaurant.
Cantaberry
Low key reasonably priced soups, sandwiches and salads that are very tasty!
Chester Brunnenmeyer's Bar & Grill
A tourist staple in downtown Blue Ridge for lunch or dinner. You will want to make reservations ahead of time to ensure you get a table.
Rum Cake Lady Cuban Cafe
If you like authentic Cuban food, this is the place to be! It's a great casual lunch option that you can walk to from the hotel. Michael loves this place.
Grace Prime Steakhouse
Upscale steak house that can't be beat! You will definitely want to book far in advance to ensure you get a table during the holiday weekend!
Main St. - Downtown Blue Ridge
While here, make sure to take a stroll down Main Street and enjoy the unique shops and eateries. It's what makes Blue Ridge so spectacular. (PS... desserts at the wedding are from the Sweet Shoppe of the South and you can try a few out while strolling Main Street for a pre-wedding taste if you like!) Delicious!
