FAQs

Question

When is the RSVP Deadline?

Answer

We would like to know if you are planning to attend our wedding by April 15, 2026.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, the wedding will be outside. But seating for dinner is indoors and the band and dance floor can be moved to a covered area, if needed.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The Venue is mostly outside so plan to wear something that is comfortable for the temperatures expected this weekend. The attire is spring dresses, sandals, suits or button-down shirts. We will provide paper fans as well, in case it is a hotter day than usual. Please wear comfortable shoes. The walk from parking to the Venue is gravel so very high spiky heels may be difficult to walk in. (we will have golf cart shuttle service available though so choose what you like)

Question

How do I get to and from the wedding venue?

Answer

Watkins Barn & Venue is 5 miles (12-15 minutes) from downtown Blue Ridge. You will need to drive to the venue. Once there, there will be golf cart shuttle service to the venue for the spots that are a little further away. We have also asked for several spots to be reserved for some of our guests that need just a short walk to the venue. If you need this priority parking, please alert the attendants. We are looking into transportation to the venue at 4:30p and back to the hotel at 10p but we haven’t secured that yet.

Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony starts at 5p and we plan to start on time to allow as much time for celebrating as possible. Guests should plan to start arriving at 4:30p to allow time for parking, time for the shuttle ride to the venue and getting to your seats. (The venue is approximately 12-15 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge.)

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes. There will be offerings of water, lemonade, sweet and unsweet tea for non-alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages will include beer, wine and two "his and hers" signature cocktail offerings.

Question

Will there be a Cocktail Reception?

Answer

We will have a Cocktail Reception Hour for mingling with live instrumental music and a spread of Charcuterie items (meats, cheeses, fruits, small bites) while the Bridal Party is getting photos taken.

Question

What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?

Answer

We have asked our caterer to ensure that there are Gluten Free options for dinner. We also have a salad and vegetables for those that are Vegan. We have also asked our dessert caterer to provide some gluten free items as well. Please let me know ahead of time if you have any concerns and I can reach out to both to confirm your needs can be met.

Question

What is the menu for the Wedding Reception?

Answer

We have opted for a buffet style dinner. The buffet will include the below food options. Small Bite Appetizers Parmesan Encrusted Chicken Brisket Au Jus Roasted Red Potatoes Broccoli Casserole Vegetable Medley Salad Deconstructed (you put on it what you like!) Rolls

Question

What are the wedding colors?

Answer

We have chosen spring colors - light blue, dusty blue, accented with dusty rose, pink, ivory and white.

Question

Is there a Registry?

Answer

We just want to enjoy our day with everyone that is important to us, so we don't have a registry. We did add a honeymoon fund if you would like to donate toward that. Our budget this year is for the wedding. We are going to stay for a few days locally after the wedding, but will wait for a tropical honeymoon until next year. Of course, anything would help and be greatly appreciated if you desire to contribute. (Please see the REGISTRY TAB for info on the honeymoon fund) We know that if you prefer to give us a gift, anything you choose will be great too!

Question

What is the address of the Venue?

Answer

Watkins Barn & Venue 1851 Galloway Rd., Blue Ridge, GA 30513 (about a 15 min. drive from Downtown Blue Ridge)

Question

What if the Hampton Inn Room Block is sold out?

Answer

Reminder: It is Memorial Day weekend and there are other weddings and a festival going on this same weekend. It is certain that lodging will book up and we don't want you to miss out on the wedding because you couldn't get lodging. We have 30 rooms blocked for our guests at The Hampton Inn. (Code: CHHJM) There is a two-night minimum but we hope you will stay and enjoy a weekend away. They also take pets FYI. Please book early to ensure you get lodging. We can't stress this enough.

Question

If I am flying in, what is the best airport to fly into?

Answer

The best major airport to fly into is Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Airport (ATL), which is 2 hours away (3-3.5 if travelling during peak Atlanta traffic times). This airport will offer the most airline options and times for flights. You could also fly into the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA), which is about 1.5 hours away and there will be less traffic. A third option is the Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) in North Carolina. This airport is about 2.5 hours from Blue Ridge.

Question

What is the Wedding Day Itinerary?

Answer

Please see the SCHEDULE TAB for the itinerary information.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We have tried to invite everyone with a significant other. The venue has a limited capacity though, and we have invited over the limit. If you did not get a plus one invite and have any concerns, please reach out to me a couple of weeks ahead of the wedding. We will try to accommodate as much as we can, pending responses and the limited seating.

Question

Will there be a band or DJ

Answer

We have hired a band that is high energy and will play a mix of music with lots of classics, some very fun and upbeat songs, some slower love songs and several different genres from classic rock to soul, pop, etc. A three-piece jazz band will play during the Cocktail Reception, and we will have a 6-piece band for the wedding reception. We chose this band so that the night would be full of happy energy and lots of fun. Bring your dancing shoes! This night for us is ALL about you (and us) having a great time. If you have any song requests, please let us know when you RSVP so we can make sure the band plays our guests favorites!

Question

Is it ok to post wedding photos on social media?

Answer

We want you to enjoy our wedding and encourage you to take lots of photos. We will have cards with a QR Code at the Venue and look forward to seeing your favorite photos from the evening uploaded to our online album! Feel free to post about the fun you are having. We are asking for an unplugged ceremony though, so our photographer has the best atmosphere and lighting for the professional photos at the ceremony.

Question

Is Jeanne taking Michael's last name?

Answer

Yes, I am! I will go by Jeanne Pete-Scoggins at work since the industry knows me as Jeanne Pete. But I have waited a long time for my Mr. Right and I love the man God sent to me. I look forward to taking Michael's last name. :)

Question

Should we make a weekend trip to Blue Ridge for the wedding or just come for the night?

Answer

Yes, to the weekend! Most lodging in Blue Ridge will require a 2-night minimum stay since it is the holiday weekend. And there is so much to enjoy once you get to Blue Ridge (see TRAVEL TAB for tips). We would love for you to think of this as a weekend get-a-way that you can enjoy and make memories from.

Question

Is there an after party?

Answer

We don't have an after party scheduled but there are a few places you can go if you aren't ready to call it a night after the reception. Blue Ridge is not a late-night town, but some places are open until about midnight. See below. The Blue Coyote 500 E Main St., Blue Ridge ...closes at 12am Fightingtown Tavern (Rock) 511 W Main St., Blue Ridge ...closes at 12am The Boro Inn (Irish Pub) 150 W Main St., Blue Ridge ...closes at 11:30p

Question

What's the best way to contact Jeanne with questions?

Answer

You can text me anytime (except probably a few hours prior to the wedding, lol). I may not be able to get back to you right away if you wait that close to start time. 770-825-6550.
