The Girl Next Door

As told by the bride to be

After college, a few friends and I decided that we were ready to make the big move into the real world, including moving out of our parent's houses & finding "big" girl jobs. We searched around the St. Louis Park area and were SO excited for what we found: a 5 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom house perfectly suited for what we needed. So, we signed a lease and couldn't WAIT to move in!! Flash forward to February of 2016 - move in day! My roommates (and now half of the wedding party) and I moved in with the help of all of our parents into our new home on Randy Ave. We spent the night giggling with wine and excited about the adventures to come! Little did we know, that the neighbors were BOYS! We soon found out that they were one year older than us and were friends from high school (Lakeville North). We invited them over for one of our game nights and chatted the night away with the four of them (now all groomsmen). We continued to spend time with them on occasion whether it be playing cards, fall bonfires, or going out on the town. One of those nights on the town, we were having a few drinks at our place and decided to go out in Uptown. We were at a bar and I saw Anthony had an Apple Watch on, so I used that to strike up a conversation with him, asking him tons of questions about it. He asked if I wanted to try it on and I said yes. We were about to leave, and he said "You can keep it on, guess it just means you can't leave me the rest of the night". We made it "official" in May of 2017. From that point forward, we only grew in our relationship and we're so excited about our future together.

The Proposal

A typical Game Night

Each month, a group of Anthony's buddies and their girlfriends (who have all become great friends of mine) all get together to do a "game night". We have been hopping around different places so that everyone has a turn to host. For Matt & Sarah's turn, they wanted to do an escape room downtown which we all agreed would be super fun and a great mix to our traditional game night. We planned it months in advance to book the room out, and then it was finally time! February 2, 2019 seems like a blur to me. Anthony had to "go to work” so I slept in, worked out with my sister and then got ready for game night. Morgan had asked if I wanted to go get my nails done with her before she went on vacation the next week, so I of course obliged (clever Morgan, clever). Anthony got home from work and we went over to Morgan and Dillon's. The girls got their nails done and then we all went to Randall's for dinner. Our timeslot wasn't until 10ish so we had lots of time to kill. After dinner and a few drinks we went right next door to the escape room. For the "Apartment" escape room our goal was to find 6 keys and place them in a lock box. We had gotten about 4 locks and were about 45 minutes in and I was working on figuring out a code to a large, red toolbox. Anthony found a clue and yelled the code out to me. I tried it and sure enough, the code worked! Since we were short on time I opened the toolbox and inside was a smaller box and a key. Sarah took the key placed it in the lock box and Anthony said "you open that". 100% thinking it was a clue in there, I opened the box quickly to find a ring box. When I opened the ring box, it was a REAL RING. I looked up and some people were videotaping or taking pictures. Then, I turned around and Anthony was on one knee asking to spend forever together. Of course my first reaction was "are you serious??" but my second one was "YES!"
