Public Transit: Airport to Sintra

From Lisbon's Humberto Delgado Airport: 1) take the Metro from the Aeroporto station to Oriente station (The Metro entrance is outside the arrivals lounge to the right of the taxi ranks and painted bright red. It is a modern and safe station. It will cost 2.00 Euros on a "Navegante" Metro card purchased at a ticket machine. Keep the card to swipe again as you exit the Metro! The journey is three stops on the red line; 7 minutes) 2) take the Train from the Oriente station to Sintra station (The train is operated by CP, the national train company. A single ticket is about 2.30 Euros and is charged to the same Navagante card. The Lisbon-Sintra railway is a regional service, so tickets cannot be booked in advance. Oriente station is a major transport hub: platforms are on the top level and ticket offices are below. The Vasco da Gama shopping center with food court is across the street from the station. If you have time for a detour, the Parque das Nações waterfront area surrounding the station has more restaurants. Sitra train staion is the final stop on the railway. The journey will be about 47 minutes.) 3) walk or taxi to hotel (There is usually a few of taxis by the station. The station is located part way between the residential town center to the east and the historic center to the west. The area of Sintra is hilly, so we don't recommend you walk.)
