Discovery Place Science
Great place for kids and adults alike! The science center is located right in Uptown.
Freedom Park
A beautiful park with a fantastic taste and feel of the south. The large pond in the center is wonderful to stroll around and there is a hill perfect for having a picnic. There is a huge jungle gym area and NFL Play 60 course for kids, they can get lost in there for hours.
The Green
This park tucked in City Center is where the groom took the bride on their first anniversary. Book lovers will get a hoot from the signs pointing in all directions, naming several famous authors. Don’t forget to look down! Can you figure out all of the riddles found about the brick sidewalk?
Crowders Mountain State Park
Feeling a bit adventurous or wanting to catch some fresh air? This mountain conveniently located just 40 minutes from Charlotte is a great, medium difficultly trail with wonderful views. In May, everything will be fully bloomed and this would be a great spot to get some activity!
U.S. National Whitewater Center
Did you know there are Class 4 training rapids in Charlotte!? The WWC is one of the couples favorite places to go throughout the year. Access to all walking trails and sites of others performing activities is free! Just have to pay for parking. With several fun options for activities including ropes courses, rock climbing walls and zip lines plus a great restaurant and beer garden, the White Water Center is a must show for most of our out of town guests.

Southern style chicken and waffles, nothing else to say. But seriously, put your name in for a table using the Yelp App or you will be waiting for at least an hour during peak dinner times.
Vapiano Charlotte
This great Italian restaurant is perfect for large groups! With no servers, each guests gets a card on the way in, making it easy to split the check at the end of the night. We also love it because you can watch your pasta dish being made right in front of you!
Zio Casual Italian
Needing a taste of Upstate NY? This family owned restaurant is known for their homemade linguine and the cannolis are to die for.
Superica
This hip new TexMex restaurant lives up to expectations. Fresh chips and avocado salsa plus amazing entrees, we have never been disappointed.
Midwood Smokehouse
This barbecue place has nothing on Hot Toddies BBQ, but is pretty darn good (and yes, Todd does approve). Right on the main strip in Plaza Midwood, this neighborhood is a great spot to wonder!
Tupelo Honey
Perfect spot for brunch, this spot is located in the heart of SouthEnd. Plan to go for a stroll up and down the light rail after your meal!
