Motts Run Reservoir Recreation Area
This was the location of our engagement photo shoot. There are biking and hiking trails throughout this recreational area. There is a nice walk along the water as well. It is down the road, just past our wedding venue!
Basilico New York Deli
Incredible Italian food and dessert. Need I say more? This is my favorite restaurant in the area. Their food is incredible and their desserts are to die for, from their in-house made gelato, to their cannoli's and cakes, all absolutely delicious!
Agora Downtown Coffee Shop & Roastery
This local coffee shop is one of my top two coffee shops in town. Closely followed by Hyperion Espresso. Agora has more of a house/library vibe.
Hyperion Espresso
One of my top two favorite local coffee shops here in town. Try them both out and see which is your favorite! This one is larger than Agora and has some really cool teas. Don't be surprised if the line goes out the door!
Crows Nest Canoe Launch
Park and walk out onto the pier that extends into a marsh. Beautiful spot expecially for sunsets.
Aquia Landing Park
This is a beautiful spot overlooking the Potomac. It has a picnic area and beaches. It's a local must go-to spot!
George Washington's Ferry Farm
This is George Washington's boyhood home! You can buy a ticket for a guided tour of his home while you are in the area.
Stafford Civil War Park
There are 5 locations that you can walk to, with some that have longer trails that you can take if you would like.
Fredericksburg Battlefield
A beautiful drive where you can park and take a short walk to see the battlefields.
Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park
Walk through the historic grounds with self guided tours and memorial statues.
