Co-Maid of Honor
Ally and Kristin's friendship began when Ally complimented Kristin’s squishy pencils in their 7th grade Math class. Since then Ally and Kristin have become part of each other’s families, always there to support each other however the other needs, even if that includes some sass, of which neither of them has a shortage of. When people ask about their friendship, there is often a long pause, whereby they then struggle to explain their sisterly love/hate bond. Ally and Kristin like to think they are like Amy Poehler and Tina Fey...we'll let you decide who is who.
Co-best man
Adam met "Jablonski" or "Big Nick" over a totally non-alcohol related game in college, and their win began a long-lasting friendship, despite Nick's affinity for faux hawks. Even though Nick soon beat Adam in an election for fraternity president, they continued to live together, which surely had nothing to do with the fact that Adam continued to supply Nick with cigars. Over the next twelve years, Adam and Nick have stayed close despite living in different states. It helps that they reunite (with co-best man Alex) for frequent trips, share a love of baseball, and staunchly agree that Cool Ranch are the best Doritos.
Co-Maid of Honor
Cheung accepted Ally as her friend when she was still at her bossiest, in Ms. Nuggents' Kindergarten class. They’ve since starred in a first grade production of the Solar System, Ally as Astronaut #3 and Ashley as the sun…(until she was absent on the day of the big show), played Wildcat soccer, and toured the world in the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra (MYO shoutout)! Ashley and Ally kept in touch with each other throughout college, graduate school and into adulting. Ashley moved back to DC little over a year ago, and Ally could not have been more excited to have one of her oldest friends back in her day to day life.
Co-Best Man
Adam met Alex (or Engler, as most know him) in what has come to be known as Engler's "post-mutton chops period." While they were friends in college, Adam and Engler became closer after graduating, often enjoying a cigar a cigar on Alex's stoop or a beer at Glen's Garden Market while debating whatever was in the news that day. Engler's "laissez faire" approach to traveling (that annoyingly always works out) has become the hallmark of trips with him, Adam, and co-best man Jablonski.
Bridesman
Ally’s day one, Scott has since forgiven his mother for bringing home a girl and welcomed Ally into the Schachter family. Scott and Midge, as he affectionately calls her, have been arm wrestling and foot fighting since the beginning. They’ve continued to support and test each other's love, typically with a healthy dose of sarcasm.
Groomswoman
Growing up, I bet that no one would have guessed that Sara and I would be in each other's weddings. But, strange things happen when you grow up and don't live in the same house anymore. Sara and Adam got close when she and her husband Justin moved to Virginia and hosted frequent Patriots game watch parties. Then, they made Adam an uncle by having Cam. While they have since moved to New York, Sara and Adam enjoy semi-frequent facetimes with each other, Ally, Justin, and Cam.
Bridesman
Lil Jelly and Shoshi lived on the same floor Freshman year at GW. When Ally decided she was going to be be Zachary's unofficial 3rd roommate, Zachary decided not to fight it. The two share a love of cooking, being yentas and posing for album cover art (debut album dropping soon). The pair have since survived 2 international trips together. I know, we're impressed too.
Groomsman
While they had heard about each other for a little while, Adam and Morgan first met when Morgan convinced Adam to run for a position in a Masonic (or as my friends call it, "Wizards") organization. Since then, they have spent a lot of time together, both in and out of Masonry, including a trip to Ireland in 2017. Morgan and Adam get along because, well, we all need a Slytherin friend.
Bridesmaid
Sarah and Ally became friends after Sarah noticed Ally creeping on pictures of her beloved pup during Epidemiology classes in graduate school. After coming clean about her love for Brody, Sarah somehow brushed this aside and they became close friends. Sarah, Ally and Lauren (see below) travelled to India for their MPH practicums and solidified their friendship and love for soan papdi. While Sarah and Ally no longer live in the same city, Sarah has always been an important support system to Ally. Sarah is member 1 of 4 of the grad school lady llamas.
Groomswoman
Adam and Amanda have been friends ever since they pledged Greek life during the same semester. Having dry humor and sarcastic wit, Amanda and Adam naturally got along. However, this friendship was tested on several occasions, such as when Adam and co-best man Jablonski snuck into her dorm room and flipped all the furniture and posters to make it look like a mirror image. But, being the bigger woman, Amanda eventually got over it, and their friendship continues to this day.
Bridesmaid
Lady Llama #2, Becca and Ally met during grad school orientation while bonding over their love of kale and while building a latrine...yes that's right, we had to build a toilet. Becca and Ally share an appreciation for small and strange looking animals, Harry Potter and their inability to quietly whisper during biostats classes. While Becca was busy racking up airline miles, they continued to stay an important part of each others lives, spending hours on the phone together and meeting for drinks and dinner whenever possible.
Groomswoman
Shannon is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, and it makes sense since she is also from Connecticut. Adam met Shannon when they were both pledging Greek life and, since Shannon is so nice, she's never ended the friendship. Adam and Shannon got closer after college through many dinners, Friendsgivings, and Classy Christmases.
Bridesmaid
Lauren is also a member of the grad school lady llamas and has always been the biggest encourager of Ally’s weird antics. Lauren and Ally became close friends in grad school when they on a whim decided to join ClassPass and come up with convenient yet healthy excuses to procrastinate in grad school. No matter how far away they are from each other, they always manage to insert themselves into the other’s life, be it by sending strange photos to one another, or videochatting at the butt crack of dawn. Fun fact: Lauren has traveled the farthest to get to the wedding so please forgive any jet lagged nonsense she may spew.
Ring Bear
It's strange to think about, but Cam hasn't known a world without Adam and Ally being together, having first met them in-utero. We hope that his experience running around the house and to the park will help him make it down the aisle. You can't miss him, he'll be the only one at the reception under 4 feet tall (that isn't Kristin).
Bridesmaid
Ally and Annie met while working for the state dept. Ally immediately knew she wanted be Annie’s friend, making it a point to announce it to their fellow colleague. Being the determined person that Ally is, she somehow swayed Annie into friendship love. Annie and Ally have shared many laughs since then, exploring the DC area and beyond. They share a love of baking, home decor and Annie’s pupperoni, Murray.
