I want to share the story of how I met Sarah, the woman who easily became the love of my life. It all began when our paths crossed in the heart of Seattle at the end of 2021. She had just moved from Ohio to Seattle while I was exploring the mountains and lakes of the region I had called home for years. Life was good, until Sarah came along and completely swept me off my feet. We connected through a dating app, and something about her immediately caught my attention. I couldn’t help but make the first move and ask her out on a date. When I picked her up that evening, I didn’t even have a plan—I just knew I wanted to spend time with her. That’s how we ended up in an arcade bar in Capitol Hill. We made fun of each other, we laughed, and by the end of the night, we were dancing at a club like we had known each other forever. From that moment, we started talking everyday and going out on more dates. We discovered not only our shared love for the outdoors, but also a mutual sense of adventure. Together, we explored in every way we could—dancing together, chasing sunsets, cheering at baseball games, and even taking cold plunges under the stars. On one particularly memorable 4th of July, I accidentally dropped Sarah’s phone into the lake. Without hesitation, I jumped in after it. I was soaked but victorious — a now funny and unforgettable moment that became a running joke between us, but also a symbol of how far I’ll go for her. Our love grew through countless adventures, and it didn’t take long for them to extend beyond Seattle. Almost immediately, we began traveling together, exploring breathtaking destinations in Canada, revisiting my roots in Mexico, and creating unforgettable memories across Europe. Of all our adventures, one holds a special place in my heart. This past summer, I planned a trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy for Sarah’s birthday. We spent the day immersed in local culture, taking a cooking class in a beautiful garden where we picked vegetables, drank wine, and prepared delicious meals with a group of wonderful new friends. Afterward, we ventured out on a boat ride, just the two of us, surrounded by the stunning beauty of the coastline.
