The Smithsonian National Zoo is about a half mile walk from the Omni, so if you're staying at the Omni it's worth a visit. The zoo is host to two giant Pandas and countless other animals. The zoo is free to enter but they require an entry pass, so if you'd like to go please plan ahead and get your pass online.
Often called “America’s front yard,” the National Mall is home to the city’s most iconic landmarks—like the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and U.S. Capitol. It’s a must-visit for scenic walks, inspiring museums, and a sense of D.C.’s history and heart.
All of the Smithsonian Museums are free to enter and explore. Most are located on the east of the Washington Monument on the national mall. Some of our favorites are: The Natural History, Air and Space, Hirshorn, and the U.S. Botanic Garden.
The Washington National Cathedral is the sixth largest Cathedral in the world. The Cathedral is located about a mile away from the Omni and features self guided and guided tours. Tickets can be purchased at the link below.
