We highly recommend spending some time in the national park while you're here! Our wedding will take place during one of the most beautiful times of the year, when all the fall colors are at their peak. Here are a few things you can do in the park! If Trail Ridge Road is still open, you can take a drive at 12,000 feet with breathtaking panoramic views. If you want to go on a hike, Glacier Gorge and Bear Lake are close to the Estes Park entrance and have great trails at all levels to alpine lakes and waterfalls that are accessible year round. There are also many trails at the Wild Basin entrance near the venue. If you're feeling ambitious, Sarah's absolute favorite hike is Chasm Lake, which is at the Longs Peak Ranger Station right by the venue. The photo above was taken there in early October of 2018. We're happy to provide more recommendations for hikes in the area! There are also plenty of other activities you can do in the park, like fishing, mountain biking, etc.
If you want the full Colorado experience, we recommend a day of Rock Climbing with Colorado Mountain School! They're located right in town and can take you to a beginner friendly climbing area on one of the many gorgeous cliffs surrounding the town! We have personal experience with these guides and highly recommend them.
This place is nostalgic for Sarah as she went here with her cousins back in 2005 while on a trip for her grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary. There's mini golf as well as go-karts, bumper cars, etc., and it's situated right outside Rocky Mountain National Park!
