We will be monitoring case rates as the wedding gets closer and will update the website with any precautions
October in Estes Park has beautiful weather. Typically the highs are in the low 60's and the lows are in the low 40's, but don't let these numbers fool you. The dry air can make the low 60's feel like the high 70's when the sun is shining. We recommend packing both warm weather clothes for the daytime as well as warm jackets for the evening. Occasionally there is light rain, and snow is rare but possible. More info here: https://weatherspark.com/d/3564/10/1/Average-Weather-on-October-1-in-Estes-Park-Colorado-United-States
We're calling our dress code Mountain Formal. Think cocktail attire, but with practical footwear and a puffy jacket. While the majority of the wedding will be either indoors or on paved areas, there will be some trail-walking, and the seating at the ceremony site is on grass (see above). Sarah fully expects her wedding dress to end up with the "Colorado Ombre" (meaning her dress will have a healthy layer of dirt on the bottom), and might be wearing her Birkenstocks. We don't recommend wearing any shoes that you don't want to get dirty and won't judge you if you decide to go with your hot pink and orange trail runners. We also recommend bringing a warm jacket in case the sun isn't out that day. It's Colorado, so your Patagonia nanopuff with duct tape patches where the campfire burned a hole is basically black tie!
Please reach out to us with your food allergies, as we can relate! Sarah has so many allergies she has to keep track of them with a spreadsheet. While we understand some folks are sensitive to cross contamination, we want to do everything we can to accommodate you! We will also have a gluten-free cake option and are more than happy to provide ingredient lists.
Yes! There is free parking at the lodge!
The ceremony (and most likely cocktail hour) will be held outdoors before the sun sets. The reception will be inside the lodge. While the chance of precipitation is very low in October, the venue will provide umbrellas to guests if needed, and in the very unlikely event of inclement weather, we will relocate to inside the lodge.
Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate children outside of the wedding party.
The ceremony, reception, and cocktail hour locations are all wheelchair accessible. To get to the ceremony there is a short walk down a gravel pathway, but it's also possible to access the site via vehicle. We will update with more information soon, but please reach out with any questions about accessibility!
Unfortunately we are unable to provide transportation to/from Estes Park.
Reception at the lodge is minimal, so plan accordingly.
Yes, we encourage it! Our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag (tbd) so we can keep track of all of your pictures!
