Sample ItinerarySample Itinerary

A lot of people have asked us for a sample itinerary, so here you go!

Day 1Day 1

Arrive in Anchorage (do these or skip directly to Day 2)

-go to the Anchorage Museum -go to the Alaska Native Cultural Center -go to Earthquake park or Kincaid park to look for moose -Eat at our favorites: Whiskey & Ramen (fancy drinks and ramen), Namaste Shangri La (Indian), So Thai (Thai), 49th State Brewing (casual), Wild Scoops Ice Cream, Moose's Tooth Pizza -Classic Anchorage Hike: Flattop


Day 2Day 2

Drive the Turnagain Arm Highway to Girdwood

-Stop at Beluga point or any of the other pulloffs to look for belugas or people surfing the boretide -Look at the cliffs for Dahl sheep or mountain goats -Stop for Coffee at roadside Birch & Alder (yummy focaccia and coffee) -Go to Crow Creek Mine to pan for gold and learn gold rush history -Hit Jack Sprats for early dinner, then Evening Soak from 5-9 at the Nordic Spa -Hike Virgin Falls (very short) or Winner Creek Trail the next morning before leaving

Day 3Day 3

Drive to Seward

-Side track to Portage Glacier and/or drive through the Whittier Tunnel (one way tunnel, the longest in the US, changes direction every half hour) -Stop at the Wildlife Center to see bears, bison and other Alaskan Animals -Enjoy the awesome scenery through Thompson Pass -Arrive in Seward!!

Seward Time

Wedding Fun! -go to the aquarium, fun for all ages -check out the Seward Museum to learn about the US's largest earthquake -Hike Mount marathon -go on a wildlife cruise -Go to Exit glacier/Kenai Fjords National Park -beachcomb -Favorite coffee and art house: Resurrect Art Coffeehouse -Eat at the cookery (our favorite restaurant), the lone chicharone taqueria, the flamingo lounge, food trucks if out -kayak tours

Extra DayExtra Day

Hatcher Pass

On your return to Anchorage, drive North to Hatcher Pass. One of our favorite places to see fall colors and a favorite hike; Reed Lakes. Get into the mountains and check out Independence Mine Historical Park.
