Things To Do Around The Area

The Wedding Website of David Lankford-Bravo and Sarah Giles
We have really enjoyed exploring the southwest together where vacations and research have taken us through New Mexico, Utah (pictured above), Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. Throughout those trips, New Mexico has always been a home base for us and we are really excited to share some of that with you. Please enjoy some of our recommendations below and don’t hesitate to let us know what other gems you find!
Rio Grande Gorge Bridge

Rio Grande Gorge Bridge

NM 87529

This bad boy will pop up out of nowhere. Go at sunset, take snacks and enjoy a really cool feature!

Ghost Ranch

Ghost Ranch

U.S. 84, Abiquiu, NM 87510

Ghost Ranch is a retreat into the stepped Mesas of northern New Mexico. Come see the landscape that originally inspired O’Keeffe while enjoying a few hikes and their dinosaur museum!

Georgia O'Keeffe Museum

Georgia O'Keeffe Museum

217 Johnson Street, Santa Fe, NM 87501

The desert is a magical place and we feel Georgia O’Keeffe captures the essence of the desert in a profound way. Sarah has sprinkled some of our favorite O’Keeffe art throughout our house in Houston and the museum is a lovely place to find your own favorites!

Hervé Wine Bar

Hervé Wine Bar

139 West San Francisco Street, Santa Fe, NM 87501

The Herve Wine Bar in Santa Fe, NM is a concept from the Lescombes Winery which is based out of Deming, NM. Daveed and Sarah first tried their wine at their Las Cruces, NM tasting room. Since then Lescombes has been a staple anytime they’ve visited her home town and last year we stumbled upon this wine bar while exploring the Santa Fe Plaza. Come tuck yourself in and enjoy a glass of wine!

Hiking around Taos

Hiking around Taos

There are plenty of trails in the surrounding mountains and ski valley. Two that are good places to start are the Williams Lake Trail (Moderate) and Wheeler Peak Trail (Difficult).

Explore Taos!

Taos, NM

Taos has something for everyone - nature, art, live music - nothing would make us happier than hearing how you enjoyed the area. Check the Taos Chamber of Commerce link for inspiration and be sure to look at the live calendar they reference for activity information!
