Charles always makes my work trips more fun! Rather than staying in a hotel the whole time we were in Seattle, we headed out to La Push and the Quileute Res.

Our first "road trip" together was for Jenny's wedding in upstate New York.
Charles took Sarah to Free Press Summer Fest for her first Houston music festival... this is close to when we started dating.
When we lived in The Heights - in Houston - one of our favorite things to do was bike from our apartment into downtown.
Sarah's more of a Texans fan now.
Charles also took Sarah to Austin City Limits (several times).
For Sarah's 30th birthday, Charles planned a West Texas vacation. This is our halfway stop on the South Rim Loop trail at Big Bend.
We'll never be able to find this again but this is a stop on the side of the road during our trip to Costa Rica.

One of our favorite places in the world is Big Bend. This is a picture in front of Mule Ears Peak. Can you see them?
Did we mention we love Big Bend? We went back for a second time with Sarah's parents. This is on the Rio Grande at Santa Elena Canyon. If anyone EVER wants to go... count us in!

New Years in Houston!
Sarah took Charles to Chichen Itza -- she'd been for her graduation trip in 2004... but she LOVED seeing it at night with Charles! (We were almost entirely there by ourselves!)
Charles was such a HUGE support for me throughout my doctoral process. Especially when I was studying for my Comps. Thanks!
On a road trip out to see the Dumas', we stopped at Monohans State Park!
We got engaged at Lighthouse Beach on Eluethera in the Bahamas. It was INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!

We went to New Zealand with my parents.... Erik and Kristen met up with us for the second half of our trip... and Charles is riding Arwen's horse from LOTR!!!!
