Located in a restored firehouse (complete with pole) in the center of Southtown, Battalion bring Italian fine dining to San Antonio. The grilled mackerel and red meat dishes are scrumptious, but the handmade pasta dishes—like fettuccine, lasagna and spaghetti—are the real standouts. House favorites like savory bucatini ai frutti di mare (with clama and octopus) and classic eggplant parmesan are served in smaller, tapas-style portions, so order two or three to ensure you leave full.
La Gloria is a place that was created to celebrate the rich and delicious street foods from interior Mexico. From tacos al pastor in Mexico City, tlayudas in Oaxaca, to coctéles de mariscos from Veracruz, Mexico's street foods are as unique and colorful as its traditions, people and culture. La Gloria means "the heavens", and our wish is that you experience heaven on earth through dining with us. Remember, "No hace falta morir para llegar a la Gloria." ("You don't have to die to go to heaven.")

We started out at our original brewpub on the north side with a used 15-barrel brew house famously held together by grit and determination. We even spearheaded legislation that, for the first time ever, allowed Texas breweries to sell directly to consumers and Texas brewpubs to sell into the wholesale market. Meanwhile, we added weekday lunch and happy hour specials, beer tastings, live music, trivia, and yoga events to the brewpub. We soon opened our second location on the outskirts of downtown San Antonio on S. Presa Street. (Near the river was downtown) The delicious, distinct flavor of every Freetail beer earned us a place on the store shelves and in the restaurants and homes of San Antonio.
