Timing is everything. In the history of the world, no two individuals have had more fortuitous timing than Bryan Christiansen and Sarah Lucey. They first texted in 2017, exchanging flirts, and they found each other charming, but it didn't work out. Bryan had just moved to Cleveland, Ohio and was an Assistant Swim Coach at John Carroll University and Sarah was entering her second year of law school at Case Western Reserve University. Sarah ghosted and Bryan moved on. They both went on to date terrible people and no one was happy. Nearly a year later Sarah made a bold move and sent a message. Bryan didn't think too hard and gave this girl another chance. They agreed to meet in person on Labor Day, 2018. Sitting together in that booth at the Jolly Scholar, It was a perfect match. They wooed each other and Bryan knew that he was falling for this smart, funny, and driven woman. As it began to rain, Bryan carried Sarah over a puddle. What a man. Sarah was falling for this dude, too. They went on two more dates within the week. It was a whirlwind romance and rightly so - Bryan was hired naught but two weeks later as the Head Coach of Frostburg State University in Maryland. He drove away from Sarah a month after meeting her, but they agreed to try long distance. With many trips over the next year up and down Route 76, their relationship blossomed. Sarah graduated law school, passed the bar exam, and was hired by the Office of the State Appellate Defender in Springfield, IL. Another multi-state move! But they couldn't wait any longer. On the anniversary of the puddle carry, in Springfield, OH (the halfway point), on a porch after sunset, Bryan dropped to one knee and proposed. She said yes! One year from that moment Bryan and Sarah were to tie the knot! But then a global pandemic got in the way. But they got to spend most of 2020 together! In July, they postponed another year. Bryan joined Sarah in Illinois permanently in May 2021 and they can't wait until September!
