Listen - we do not want to include Skyline on this list, we really don't. We do not like it and we do not think anyone should eat it. However, we would be remiss to not include Skyline Chili on a "where to eat in Dayton" list. Skyline is the most iconic food to ever come out of the state of Ohio. Buzzfeed once ranked it in 50th place on a list that ranked each state's signature food, but hey, at least it was ranked! If you are visiting Ohio for the first time, consider if eating at Skyline is a good decision for you. If this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Ohio for you, it may be worth your while to stop at a Skyline Chili near you.
Part grunge, part glamour with a pinch of groovy, the dark and sultry underground isn’t just a cocktail bar. This bar, located discretely under our wedding venue, is the chicest thing to ever happen to Dayton, Ohio. We wandered in looking for a nice cocktail, and by the end we were begging them to let us have our after party there (they said "absolutely not".)
The Air Force Museum located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is the world’s largest military aviation museum. Admission is free and absolutely massive, so if you have a car and a free day, it's an interesting way to spend an afternoon.
The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery is a children's museum, science and technology center and zoo that focuses on science and natural history. Exhibits include an extensive natural history collection as well as maintaining a collection of live animals native to Ohio and abroad.
