Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park protects some of the most unique geological, biological, and cherished cultural landscapes in the world. Extending from sea level to 13,680 feet, the park encompasses the summits of two of the world's most active volcanoes - Kīlauea and Mauna Loa.

Puʻukoholā Heiau National Historic Site and is located on the northwestern coast of the island of Hawaiʻi. The site preserves the National Historic Landmark ruins of the last major Ancient Hawaiian temple. This temple was built by a Hawaiian king and his warriors that stands tall in unifying the Hawaiian Islands under one ruler.
Swim with dolphins at Dolphin Quest! Dolphin Quest Hawaii opened in 1988 and was the first of its kind to provide a natural sandy beached tidal lagoon filled with filtered sea water for resident bottlenose dolphins. Located within the Hilton Waikoloa Resort.
This beach is accessed by foot, 4WD, or by shuttles operated by locals at the beach. The hike is a moderate level and 2 miles each way. The locally operated shuttles are offered by locals who live in the area and they only accept a cash payment.
(Not suggested for swimming) Punaluʻu Black Sand Beach is one of the most famous black sand beaches in Hawaiʻi. Located between the towns of Pāhala and Nāʻālehu in Kaʻū, Punaluʻu Black Sand Beach's jet black shores are an unforgettable sight. Coconut palms fringe the upper edge of sand and you may also discover large honu (Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles).
Located near Hilo on the Eastern Side of the Island. Take a pleasant self-guided walk through lush tropical vegetation to scenic vista points overlooking the cascading Kahuna Falls and the free-falling ‘Akaka Falls, which plunges 442 feet into a stream-eroded gorge.
Rainbow Falls are a series of broad waterfalls in the Wailuku river that is conveniently located within Hilo town. They are very easy to visit, visible from the parking lot, and you’ll have a high chance of seeing rainbows if you visit somewhat early in the day.
