Question

PLEASE READ: ALTITUDE SICKNESS

Answer

For those visiting Vail, Colorado for the first time, please be aware that altitude sickness is a real thing! People have different susceptibilities to altitude sickness; for some otherwise healthy people, acute altitude sickness can begin to appear at around 6,500 ft (2,000 meters) above sea level. Remember that the town of Vail is appx 8,000 ft above sea level and the Ceremony will be at 11,000 ft above sea level. Symptoms include: Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Loss of appetite, Fatigue, Dizziness, Sleep disturbance. Swelling of the hands, feet, or face Depending on severity, symptoms may be difficult to overcome once they begin.

Question

Tips from Sara & Matt: Adjusting to Altitude

Answer

1. If you can, staying in Denver for one night before traveling to Vail helps with Acclimation. 2. WATER, WATER, WATER, we recommend at MINIMUM 50 oz of water per day. However, if you are doing activities at least 80 oz. 3. Electrolytes as well with your water. We love LMNT or Liquid IV. Minimum 1 packet a day 4. Acetazolamide is one medicine that can be used to prevent altitude sickness. If you've had altitude sickness before, consider speaking with your doctor to prescribe medication to help prevent it. 5. Advil, can help thin the blood and prevent altitude sickness. However, based on your medical history, consult your doctor for questions. 6. Reduce Activity, TAKE IT EASY. Before doing strenuous hikes etc, make sure you acclimate and limit activity for at least one day.

Question

Answer

The wedding ceremony will occur on the Holy Cross Wedding Deck accessed by the Gondola. Cocktail hour and reception will be indoor/outdoor at the International Ballroom inside the Lodge at Vail.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors and is a 5-7 minute walk from the gondola to the wedding deck. Please wear COMFORTABLE shoes.

Question

Answer

The dress code is Formal. Mountain weddings can be chilly and have changing weather, so bring a light shawl or cardigan, especially for the Ceremony.

Please reserve WHITE for the bride. We would like to keep it as colorful as possible so for women please no black dresses.
