The Shops at Legacy and Legacy West are great areas to walk around and shop at different stores. There are also tons of different dining options in that area. The legacy hall is a three story food hall with dozens of food stalls and frequently has live music as well.
If you’re looking for a spot to run or ride your bike, we highly recommend Katy Trail! We walk our dog Scip here almost every day. The trail goes through the Uptown and Oak Lawn areas of Dallas and follows the former rail bed of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad. The Katy Trail Ice House is a restaurant on the trail that’s a local favorite and a great place to grab some drinks and appetizers.
Klyde Warren Park is a public park in the heart of Downtown Dallas. It is located in the Arts District near the Dallas Museum of Art and Nasher Sculpture Center and covers the Woodall Rodgers Freeway. The perimeter of the park is lined with some great food trucks and they frequently host various free classes, performances, and movie screenings.
Reunion Tower (The Ball) is one of the most recognizable buildings in Dallas. It has a great view of the city since it is just west of downtown. There is also a restaurant at the top, so you can eat while taking in the views. You’re able to go day or night, so you won’t need to schedule around the tour. Just make sure to get your tickets early!
The Arboretum spans 66 acres, so you’ll have plenty to look at. The gardens are open year round and always have something to see! Even when plants and trees aren’t in full bloom, the arboretum is still a beautiful place to visit no matter what time of year you go. Whether you want to enjoy some flowers, check out the beautiful trees, or relax in the many grassy areas, there’s something for everyone here. The Arboretum is located on White Rock Lake, so it has a great backdrop for pictures (alongside the flowers and trees)!
The Perot Museum is one of the highest rated museums in Dallas. It has 11 permanent exhibits that focus on topics ranging from sports to ones focused on science, so everyone can be sure they’ll find something they’re interested in! It’s recommended to take 2 hours to visit the museum, but you can take more or less depending on how many exhibits you want to see.
The Aquarium has six different exhibits to explore, so you can easily spend a few hours here. There are a surprising amount of non-aquatic animals to see too, so everyone can be sure to see some kind of animal that will pique their interest! There are many different see-through tunnels that offer a more immersive experience.
