We first met in September of 2021 in the most classic millennial way…on a dating app. At the time, Sara was finishing up her last year of Internal Medicine residency in San Antonio and Ken was working as a petroleum engineer. While exploring the not-so-wonderful world of online dating, we both swiped right on each other on bumble and within a week of texting, we decided to meet up at a little bakery called Laika Cheesecake & Espresso. Sara was immediately drawn to Ken's charm and how easy it was to talk to him, while Ken was captivated by Sara's humor and quick wit. The date could’ve gone on for a few more hours if Sara didn’t need to leave early to work a night shift at the hospital. Over the next several dates, we found that we aligned on so many of our values and bonded over our love for traveling.

Our relationship grew stronger with each adventure we shared, including trips to San Francisco, Boston, Denver, Greece, Turkey, NYC, and Lake Tahoe/Yosemite. It was on our trip to Lake Tahoe that Ken proposed during a sunrise overlooking Emerald Bay. The proposal was stressful to say the least as Ken found out the night before that the spot he had picked out was going to be closed off for a marathon at 8 am. He called to the photographer he had booked to change the location of the proposal at midnight but while driving by the overlook before sunrise, he realized it was so perfect he had to propose there. He called the photographer back right before the sun came up to have him drive back to the original spot they had picked out and got down on one knee right as the sun was coming up. Despite all the last minute changes, the moment was so perfect and intimate. Even the police officers who closed the street for a marathon congratulated us! We’re eagerly awaiting our wedding in November and are so excited to celebrate our love with all of our friends and family! We can’t wait to see you all on November 5th!
