Looking for the best croissants in the world?! Here they are! Your choice: plain (Susana's favorite!), Nutella, with sandwich meat, how ever you want it. It’s a small chain so you may see others around Portugal.
Praia do Guincho
This is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Cascais area. Typically is very windy! Bar do Guincho is the spot to go. Go for a walk, have a drink, and enjoy the waves and the sun! This is a picture of Susana and Eric at Guincho, Summer 2021.
Taberna - Bairro do Avillez
Avillez is a Portuguese Chef and he has restaurants with Michelin Stars. This is the restaurant we recommend. You can enjoy very typical Portuguese food. High-end, super great quality and excellent service. Susana went there for the first time in 2018 with Sérgio, Carolina and Guilherme (her nephews and niece) and since then, they all became a fan of Chef Avillez. Susana and Eric went to one of his restaurants in Porto (Cantinho do Avillez) with Mike and Joan Dominik in the summer of 2021. Everyone had a great meal and enjoyed the chef's own wine! (there is more to say about this wine... but if you want to know it, you will need to ask!)
Brasa de Sassoeiros - Carcavelos
THIS IS ERIC'S FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN PORTUGAL! We went there several times now. The first time, was to celebrate Nuno's 50th birthday - and we had a lot of fun. Very good typically Portuguese food, very affordable.
Quinta da Regaleira
The Quinta da Regaleira was designed and built in the late 1800s and is one of our favorite places to enjoy a nice afternoon in Sintra. It reflects the sensibility and cultural, philosophical and scientific interests of the principal owner, António Augusto de Carvalho Monteiro (1948-1920), together with the virtuosity of the Italian architect and scenographer Luigi Manini (1848-1936). The culture and creativity of these two personalities resulted in an eclectic-revivalist architectural ensemble, with a particular focus on the Manueline, Renaissance, Medieval and Classical styles.
