Michael wanted to take me on a surprise weekend getaway to Yosemite in January during the Pandemic. He booked us a fancy room at our favorite hotel right near the park! But when we arrived the hotel parking lot was completely empty, hmmm! We both thought it was a little strange but not too concerning. Michael went inside and the hotel clerk asked if he had a reservation. She began searching on her computer and after several minutes she looked up and said, "We're closed because of the pandemic!" Michael came out and thought, "What now?" Not wanting to let a whole day's drive go to waste, we decided just to head on into the park anyway where Michael led me to a romantic secluded part of the meadow and there he proposed next to the Merced river and El Capitan. He said the sweetest words and had chosen Yosemite because it is our special place we go to every year. Of course I said, "Yes!"
