Its front portal is home to the Native American Artisans Program, where artisans from New Mexico’s 23 federally recognized tribes—including 19 Pueblos, three Apache tribes, and the Navajo Nation—sell handmade jewelry and crafts. This unique marketplace allows visitors to purchase authentic, one-of-a-kind pieces directly from the artists, offering a meaningful connection to New Mexico's rich cultural heritage.

El Flamenco Cabaret in Santa Fe offers an electrifying, up-close experience of traditional flamenco that will leave you captivated. New Mexico is renowned as a hub for flamenco outside of Spain, thanks to its deep cultural connections and dedication to preserving this vibrant art form. With world-class performers and a rich tradition, the state has become a destination for flamenco enthusiasts. When we went to a show in Albuquerque, Josh absolutely loved it—it’s an unforgettable evening of passion, rhythm, and artistry that stirs up deep emotion. New Mexico is not only known for its rich history but also for its vibrant craft beer scene. While the first grapes in North America were planted here by friars for winemaking, today’s local breweries have made the state a destination for beer lovers. Santa Fe’s breweries offer unique flavors inspired by the Southwest, from hoppy IPAs to refreshing sours. Grab a pint and toast to the perfect blend of history and modern craft!

Loretto Chapel Museum

Loretto Chapel Museum

207 Old Santa Fe Trail, Santa Fe, NM 87501

The Loretto Chapel is a breathtaking historical site in Santa Fe, famous for its "miracle staircase," attributed to the intercession of St. Joseph, the patron saint of carpenters. This stunning spiral staircase, built without nails or visible support, is a marvel of craftsmanship and faith, with its origins shrouded in mystery. Though the chapel is sadly now a museum that charges an entry fee, it remains a must-see destination for its beauty and the story of devotion and impossible craftsmanship that surrounds it.

New Mexico State Capitol

New Mexico State Capitol

490 Old Santa Fe Trail, Santa Fe, NM 87501

New Mexico's State Capitol, known by locals as the Roundhouse, was designed to resemble the shape of a Zia sun symbol, the image that adorns the state's flag. The 232,000-square-foot structure – the country's sole round capitol building – has a 60-foot-high central rotunda. Beyond its distinctive architecture, the capitol is worth visiting for art's sake. Its art collection, managed by the Capitol Art Foundation, has nearly 600 works, including paintings, sculpture, photography and more.
