Love beautiful scenery and art all in one? Vizcaya is an Italianate mansion created by James Deering that was preserved and turned into a museum. It's definitely worth a trip if you are looking for a moment away from the city feel of Miami.

Interested in street art and graffiti? Looking to see something different that your typical museum art? Enjoy a few hours in Wynwood perusing the public art on the walls created by artisits from around the world, as well as checking out some local galleries or grabbing a small bite at the famous Zak the Bakery (kosher eatery).

Jungle Island
Come visit with twin orangutans, over 300 vibrant birds, a liger, and various other unique animals. It's a fun day for the entire family! Just make sure you bring sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water!
Miami Children's Museum
A great place for kids of all ages (including kids at heart) to learn and interact with various parts of life. Pretend to be a doctor, slide down a fire escape, or, Andrea's personal favorite, visit Publix Supermarket and go grocery shopping (the only store where you can get oranges straight from the tree)!
Versailles Cuban Bakery
Although one could debate whether Versailles served the best Cuban cuisine, it's certainly famous for being a must stop for politicians, including past and current presidents, to get a cup of Cuban coffee (a cafecito). If you want to order like a true Miamian, place your order through the "ventanita" a little window for those ordering take-out.
El Palacio de los Jugos, Flagler
An Andrea MUST STOP on her trips home. This little outdoor haven will transport you out of Miami and has to offer just about anything Cuban your heart desires, all in large servings, at a great place, and filled with flavor! Pro-tips: 1) walk around and explore the ENTIRE area before you decide what to get; 2) bring cash; 3) bring friends and family to try things and share; 4) buy your juice before you buy your meal (we recommend trying mamey or coconut)
