Sam messaged Andrea on Shabbat.com on 12/31. Initially she didn’t respond, so he made sure to follow up and messaged her again. When she read his profile, she was intrigued and appreciated his genuineness. She finally responded on 1/6, and they have spoken every day since. Sam came to visit Andrea for Shabbat that upcoming weekend, and they ultimately met in person at the Beis Community in Washington Heights after Friday night services on 1/11.
Knowing how much Andrea loves to go to Fort Tryon Park every week on Shabbat to see which new flowers have bloomed, Sam woke up early to walk the floral path and left Andrea some notes (some of which even lasted to the main event). Sam and Andrea walked to the park together in the early afternoon. They went down the floral path, then to look over the water at the bridge, and finally made it to THE archway. Sam had seen a snail earlier in the morning and left Andrea a note. Although unfortunately the snail didn’t stick around until show time, Andrea read the notes and when she turned around, Sam was on his knee and asked her to marry him. (spoiler alert) She said YES! Thanks to Sam Feldman, who waited outside on a cold, drizzly day, as well as some kind park patrons, we were able to catch some of the moment in action and capture the glow and love after the event.
