Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI)

My fellow Americans: There are not a ton of direct flights to Mallorca from the US, with the exception of a flight from Newark, NJ, which is infrequent. There are many options to int'l hub airports like Barcelona, London, Madrid, Frankfurt, and so on. Most European cities have multiple daily flight options to get to Palma. Getting To Port de Sóller & Sóller

Sóller is a 35-minute car journey from the airport. If you are planning on exploring the island, we highly recommend hiring a rental car. Any of the hotels along the Port de Soller are suitable, so please feel free to have a browse. If you would prefer something with more space and privacy, there are plenty of private fincas and villas nearby which can be found via AirBnb and VRBO, but there might be minimum stay requirements. Public Transport: We do not recommend this option, but public transport is possible - it takes approximately 1hr 30 minutes. It requires a bus into Palma and another to Sóller. Download the MobiPalma app for more transport information. Bus: The L211 bus runs on a variable timetable throughout the seasons. Journey time from Port Sóller to Palma is 45 minutes. There is a taxi rank located directly outside the airport so there is no need to pre-book unless you require a private transfer. There’s a dedicated taxi stand in Port Sóller close to the beach. If you are in Soller town, there is a taxi rank at Sóller Plaza España. Please note that Uber is not really a 'thing' on Mallorca, as it's only just started and the taxis hold a monopoly on the island. Train

Tren De Sóller

There is a vintage tram that runs from the town of Soller to the port of Soller every 30 minutes between 8am and 9pm. You can see location and timetable are available on the website. There is also a train that connects Soller to Palma several times throughout the day. The train journey is an experience in itself, as it passes through some wonderfully scenic countryside and takes approximately 1 hour.
